Rev 13:1 THEN I stood on the sand of the sea and I saw a beast rising up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and on his horns ten crowns, and on his heads a blasphemous name Rev 9:2,11; 11:7; 12:3,9,13; 13:1; 17:3,8,16; 19:20; 20:2,3,10; (Isa 27:1) Isa 14:12-17; Isa 60:5; Eze 28:12-13,15,17-19; Dan 2:43-45; 7:3-28; 8:23-25; 9:27; 11:16,36-38; Zech 1:19; 2 Thess 2:3-4; The 1st beastThe beast that rises up out of the sea (out of the world of men) has 7 heads, 10 horns and 10 crowns. I watched till its wings were plucked off; and it was lifted up from the earth and made to stand on two feet like a man, and a man’s heart was given to it. 5 “And suddenly another beast, a second, like a bear. It was raised up on one side, and [had] three ribs in its mouth between its teeth. And they said thus to it: ‘Arise, devour much flesh!’ 6 “After this I looked, and there was another, like a leopard, which had on its back four wings of a bird. The beast also had four heads, and dominion was given to it. 7 “After this I saw in the night visions, and behold, a fourth beast, dreadful and terrible, exceedingly strong. It had huge iron teeth; it was devouring, breaking in pieces, and trampling the residue with its feet. It [was] different from all the beasts that [were] before it, and it had ten horns. 8 “I was considering the horns, and there was another horn, a little one, coming up among them, before whom three of the first horns were plucked out by the roots. And there, in this horn, [were] eyes like the eyes of a man, and a mouth speaking pompous words. … 17 ‘Those great beasts, which are four, [are] four kings [which] arise out of the earth. … 23 “Thus he said: ‘The fourth beast shall be A fourth kingdom on earth, Which shall be different from all [other] kingdoms, And shall devour the whole earth, Trample it and break it in pieces. 24 The ten horns [are] ten kings [Who] shall arise from this kingdom. And another shall rise after them; He shall be different from the first [ones], And shall subdue three kings. 25 He shall speak [pompous] words against the Most High, Shall persecute the saints of the Most High, And shall intend to change times and law. Then [the saints] shall be given into his hand For a time and times and half a time. 26 ‘But the court shall be seated, And they shall take away his dominion, To consume and destroy [it] forever.]
{In my opinion these 10 crowns/horns (see Dan 7:24) are kings/countries that once were the Ottoman Empire, corresponding to the ten toes.}

Eze 28:12Son of man, take up a lamentation upon the king of Tyrus, and say unto him, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Thou sealest up the sum, full of wisdom, and perfect in beauty. 13Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone [was] thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created. 15Thou [wast] perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee. 17Thine heart was lifted up because of thy beauty, thou hast corrupted thy wisdom by reason of thy brightness: I will cast thee to the ground, I will lay thee before kings, that they may behold thee. 18Thou hast defiled thy sanctuaries by the multitude of thine iniquities, by the iniquity of thy traffick; therefore will I bring forth a fire from the midst of thee, it shall devour thee, and I will bring thee to ashes upon the earth in the sight of all them that behold thee. 19All they that know thee among the people shall be astonished at thee: thou shalt be a terror, and never [shalt] thou [be] any more.
Dan 7:7; After this I saw in the night visions, and behold a fourth beast, dreadful and terrible, and strong exceedingly; and it had great iron teeth: it devoured and brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with the feet of it: and it [was] diverse from all the beasts that [were] before it; and it had ten horns.
Dan 8:23And in the latter time of their kingdom, when the transgressors are come to the full, a king of fierce countenance, and understanding dark sentences, shall stand up. 24And his power shall be mighty, but not by his own power: and he shall destroy wonderfully, and shall prosper, and practise, and shall destroy the mighty and the holy people. 25And through his policy also he shall cause craft to prosper in his hand; and he shall magnify [himself] in his heart, and by peace shall destroy many: he shall also stand up against the Prince of princes; but he shall be broken without hand.
Dan 9:27; And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make [it] desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.
Dan 11:16But he that cometh against him shall do according to his own will, and none shall stand before him: and he shall stand in the glorious land, which by his hand shall be consumed. 36And the king shall do according to his will; and he shall exalt himself, and magnify himself above every god, and shall speak marvellous things against the God of gods, and shall prosper till the indignation be accomplished: for that that is determined shall be done. 37Neither shall he regard the God of his fathers, nor the desire of women, nor regard any god: for he shall magnify himself above all. 38But in his estate shall he honour the God of forces: and a god whom his fathers knew not shall he honour with gold, and silver, and with precious stones, and pleasant things.
Zech 1:19; And I said unto the angel that talked with me, What [be] these? And he answered me, These [are] the horns which have scattered Judah, Israel, and Jerusalem.
2 Thess 2:3,4; Let no man deceive you by any means: for [that day shall not come], except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.
(‘sea’ in scripture imagery stands for the populace, the unorganized mass of mankind (Isa 60:5; Dan 7:2,3; Mt.13:47; Lk 21:25)
Rev 13:2 Now the beast which I saw was like a leopard, his feet were like the feet of a bear, and his mouth like the mouth of a lion. The dragon gave him his power, his throne, and great authority. And whereas thou sawest the feet and toes, part of potters’ clay, and part of iron, the kingdom shall be divided; but there shall be in it of the strength of the iron, forasmuch as thou sawest the iron mixed with miry clay.
Dan 7:19Then I would know the truth of the fourth beast, which was diverse from all the others, exceeding dreadful, whose teeth [were of] iron, and his nails [of] brass; [which] devoured, brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with his feet; 20And of the ten horns that [were] in his head, and [of] the other which came up, and before whom three fell; even [of] that horn that had eyes, and a mouth that spake very great things, whose look [was] more stout than his fellows. 21I beheld, and the same horn made war with the saints, and prevailed against them;

Zech 1:19; And I said unto the angel that talked with me, What [be] these? And he answered me, These [are] the horns which have scattered Judah, Israel, and Jerusalem. {Key to conclusion to me. The kings of the same countries again.}
Rev 13:3 And I saw one of his heads as if it had been mortally wounded, and his deadly wound was healed. And all the world marveled and followed the beast. Rev 12:3; 13:14; Dan 8:23-25;

1st Beast
Book of Life I have heard it said there are a set of books in heaven. (Hal Lindsey gives quite a good explanation of the books.) My understanding is: There is a book of life with the name of every person who has ever lived or will live, written down. I believe this is so, and that the names are names God has given them. The DNA could easily be the Identifier of every soul. Not a name we would recognize as our name now, but what God has named him. There is a book of Works, which lists every deed good or bad for each person. Then there are a couple of other books mentioned by Lindsey. Then Tim LaHaye says he believes there is a ‘Lamb’s Book of Life’ Rev 21:27, which I believe is the book, ‘The Book of Life.’ When a soul determines not to accept Christ as their personal Savior their name is erased from the Book of Life. That still leaves their names in the book of works, and they are judged from that book. The Calvanists believe having your name in the book of life is the list of who God has chosen to be saved from the beginning of time. I believe, as I have said, it is the name of every person God has planned to create from the beginning of time. Each one chooses life or death. Rev 13:9 If anyone has an ear, let him hear.
Rev 13:10 He who leads into captivity shall go into captivity; he who kills with the sword must be killed with the sword. Here is the patience and the faith of the saints.

Chapter 17
Parenthetical – A mystery revealed.
This is not a span of time, but rather like a time out to describe to us the Babylon that is going to be destroyed in Chapter 18. The woman sitting on a scarlet beast is Babylon, revealed to us in 18:10.
Mystery Revealed – Woman is that great city that has dominion over kings of earth. I am persuaded this ‘great city’ is the current Arabian Peninsula, the eastern coast includes Saudi Arabia, UAE, Bahrain, Dubai, Qatar, Abu Dhabi. The Oil Rich coastline.
The great harlot is Mystery Babylon, city that rules all the kingdoms, is rich and ‘they’ hate her. Not an apostate church – but a city that is rich ‘arrayed in purple and scarlet, and adorned with gold and precious stones and pearls, having in her hand a golden cup full of abominations and the filthiness of her fornication……….the kings of the earth committed fornication and lived luxuriously with her…..merchandise of gold and silver, precious stones and pearls, fine linen and purple, silk and scarlet, every kind of citron wood, every kind of objects of ivory, precious wood, bronze, iron and marble ……and cinnamon and incense, fragrant oil and frankincense, wine and oil, fine flour and wheat, cattle and sheep, horses…..and bodies and souls of men.’ The ‘Islam’ religion is the worlds religion now! Not hard to imagine the Arabs of todays world, who hate all who do not worship their way.
Rev 17:1 THEN one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls came and talked with me, saying to me, “Come, I will show you the judgment of the great harlot who sits on many waters,” Rev 17:1,15,18; 18:8; Isa 47:7-9; Jer 30:11; 51; Zeph 2:15; 3:1;
Isa 47:7-9; And thou saidst, I shall be a lady for ever: [so] that thou didst not lay these [things] to thy heart, neither didst remember the latter end of it. Therefore hear now this, [thou that art] given to pleasures, that dwellest carelessly, that sayest in thine heart, I [am], and none else beside me; I shall not sit [as] a widow, neither shall I know the loss of children: But these two [things] shall come to thee in a moment in one day, the loss of children, and widowhood: they shall come upon thee in their perfection for the multitude of thy sorceries, [and] for the great abundance of thine enchantments.

Rev 17:6 And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus: and when I saw her, I wondered with great admiration.
Rev 17:7 But the angel said to me, “Why did you marvel? I will tell you the mystery of the woman and of the beast that carries her, which has the seven heads and the ten horns.” Rev 12:3
Rev 17:8 “The beast that you saw was, and is not, and will ascend out of the bottomless pit and go to perdition (Rev 9:2). And those who dwell on the earth will marvel, whose names are not written in the Book of Life from the foundation of the world, when they see the beast that was, and is not, and yet is.” Rev 9:2,11; 11:7; 12:3,9,13; 13:1; 17:3,8,16; 19:20; 20:2,3,10; (17:8 – 17:14 talks about the 1st beast.)
ISIS seems to have risen from the bottomless pit and their names are not written in the Book of Life. BABYLON: Note: ”the lion (Babylon)’, unites to destroy Israel then is destroyed by those she united with! Someone once said America is the new Babylon. Since that was said there are more choices:

The Scarlet Coloured Beast! Full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns! Every nation/state of the Middle East and the US, has united against Israel, with plans for destruction! (Since President Trump’s administration has been elected they have allied with Israel again.) 7 heads, 10 horns, all of them united! The struggle amongst the nations/states of ‘The Scarlet Coloured Beast’ is ‘who‘ will be their ‘leader’! Rev 13:18 Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is six hundred threescore and six.

Rev 17:9 “Here is the mind which has wisdom: The seven heads are seven mountains on which the woman sits.” Rev 12:3; 13:1; Zech 12-14;
Rev 17:9 is the verse that Hal Lindsey uses to identify the Rome of the end times, he thinks it will be the European Union’s capital. The 7 heads are the 7 mountains of Rome. Quoting Lindsey, “There is no question about where the city would be – it was Rome. It says that the woman sits (or rules) on seven mountains. Most elementary students of history or geography know that Rome is the city of seven hills. It is there that the religious system will reign for a time in coalition with the political system.” The beast is being ruled by ‘the woman,’ that is Babylon.” I disagree of course. These ‘mountains’ are ‘kingdoms.’ Rev 17:9-10 The seven heads are 7 mountains which are 7 kingdoms who are controlled by this ‘woman sitting on the scarlet beast.’ These seven kingdoms/countries who will have a leader who sells his soul to the Devil and they will hate the harlot (17:16; 17:4; 18:16;) and destroy her, Babylon. Till all give their kingdoms to the beast. 17:18! Those 7 hills/mountains are ‘kingdoms’! (Clearly ‘Kingdom’ here and in: Dan 2:35, 44-45; Isa 2:2; Rev 17:9-11;)
The great harlot is Mystery Babylon, that city that rules all the kingdoms, is rich and ‘they’ hate her. Not an apostate church – but a city that is rich ‘arrayed in purple and scarlet, and adorned with gold and precious stones and pearls, having in her hand a golden cup full of abominations and the filthiness of her fornication……….the kings of the earth committed fornication and lived luxuriously with her…..merchandise of gold and silver, precious stones and pearls, fine linen and purple, silk and scarlet, every kind of citron wood, every kind of objects of ivory, precious wood, bronze, iron and marble ……and cinnamon and incense, fragrant oil and frankincense, wine and oil, fine flour and wheat, cattle and sheep, horses…..and bodies and souls of men.’

The city, Babylon is not in view here, as the immediate context shows. It is important to note the significance of the name when used symbolically. “Babylon” is the Greek form: invariably in the O.T. Hebrew the word is simply Babel, the meaning of which is confusion, and in this sense the word is used symbolically.
(1) In the prophets, when the actual city is not meant, the reference is to the “confusion” into which the whole social order of the world has fallen under Gentile world-domination. (See “Times of the Gentiles,” Luke 21:24; Revelation 16:14; Isaiah 13:4 gives the divine view of the welter of warring Gentile powers. The divine order is given in Isa. 11. Israel in her own land, the centre of the divine government of the world and channel of the divine blessing; and the Gentiles blessed in association with Israel. Anything else is, politically, mere “babel.”
(2) In Revelation 14:8-11; 16:19 the Gentile world-system is in view in connection with Armageddon; Revelation 16:14; 19:21 while in Rev 17, the reference is to apostate Christianity, destroyed by the nations Revelation 17:16 headed up under the Beast; Daniel 7:8; Revelation 19:20 and false prophet. Mystery Revealed – Woman is that great city that has dominion over kings of earth. I am persuaded this ‘great city’ is the current Arabian Peninsula, the eastern coast includes Saudi Arabia, UAE, Bahrain, Dubai, Qatar, Abu Dhabi. The Oil Rich coastline.
CHAPTER 14 VERSES 1-8 – HEAVEN IS BUSY WITH ANGELS TELLING THE SAVED THE ANNOUNCEMENT OF BABYLON’S JUDGMENT.

I ponder the statement ‘firstfruits’ because it is, ‘Christ in resurrection.’ Perhaps the first Jews who accepted Christ while he was on the earth.

That Babylon the city is not to be rebuilt is clear from ; Isaiah 13:19-22; Jeremiah 51:24-26,62-64. By political Babylon is meant the Gentile world-system. (See “World,” ; John 7:7; Revelation 13:8) It may be added that, in Scripture symbolism, Egypt stands for the world as such; Babylon for the world of corrupt power and corrupted religion; Nineveh for the pride, the haughty glory of the world.
