The undeclared nuclear material originated from Pakistan and arrived in the hold of a passenger flight from Oman, according to reports.
The package was detected by scanners at the London airport and contained potentially lethal amounts of uranium. It was then transferred to a freight shed, in the process triggering alarms and causing security personnel to converge on the scene and isolate the unregistered shipment in a dedicated radioactive room.
Police have reportedly homed in on an Iran-based firm with premises in the United Kingdom, where the uranium was destined for unidentified Iranians.

A significant volume of the world’s maritime traffic passes through the Strait, including a daily average of some five million barrels of oil. The Suez Canal constitutes an important source of income for Egypt, as does the port of Aqaba for Jordan and the port of Jeddah for Saudi Arabia (its most important port). It is also the route of passage to the port of Eilat.
As part of its ambitious Vision 2030, Saudi Arabia seeks to develop some 200 kilometers of its Red Sea coastline, including 50 micro islands, for the promotion of tourist initiatives that will attract foreign investments. The coastline will also be the site of the future Saudi city Neom, as well as an Egyptian-Saudi plan for building a bridge over the Red Sea, which would facilitate the direct passage of goods between the two countries and bring the markets of the Arabian Peninsula and Europe closer together.

Consider the list: Lebanon, where for more than a year and a half there has been no president, partly because of the tension between Saudi Arabia and Iran; Yemen, where a civil war is being waged with the direct intervention of Saudi forces and Iranian advisers; Syria, of course, where Iran’s Revolutionary Guards are fighting militias funded by Riyadh; Iraq (which is in many ways similar to Syria in that regard); and even the West Bank, where the Iranians give financial support to the Islamic Jihad, to the A-Sabireen movement in Gaza and, to a limited extent, to Hamas.
And indeed, nearly all the actors in the Middle Eastern arena now understand that the Iranian declarations are not hollow and that Tehran will try to give them substance in the form of an attack on the Saudi kingdom.
Any revenge attack via Shiite actors will draw a Saudi response. Which means, as the London-based site Al Araby Al Jadeed wrote Monday, the cold war will heat up suddenly into a more much more dangerous confrontation between the two countries.
It has to be said that this crisis, which is likely to lead to a clash of the two civilizations, Shiite and Sunni, does not come as much of a shock.
Hamas is not alone. From now on, the name of the game in our region is that every country or organization will have to choose a side. The Israeli-Arab conflict no longer interests decision-makers in Riyadh or Cairo; rather the battle for the future of the Middle East between Shiites and Sunnis occupies center stage.
Almost 1,400 years have passed since the first battles broke out within the Muslim world between the inheritors of the Prophet Muhammad, which led to the schism between Shiites and Sunnis, and it seems little has changed here: We are returning to the same very old sectarian war, which is likely to lead to severe ongoing bloodshed that will once again shape the face of the region.

Some of these are classified, but a 2012 paper by Loc Pham, “UAV Swarm Attack” is open and makes uncomfortable reading.
Chung is staging a contest for swarms of small drones carry out simulated battles as a way of evaluating tactics and technology. His basic scenario is a 50-versus-50 encounter in which the Blue defenders attempt to stop Red attackers from getting through. Nobody knows much about drone-versus-drone combat yet, especially on this scale. How much autonomy do the drones need? How can the swarm commander stay in control in a fast-moving action? How do quality and quantity balance out in battling swarms?
With manned aircraft, the pilot’s life counts for a lot; but swarming drones are expendable and high “casualties” do not matter. This is a very different world to the dogfights we have seen before.
The battles will be fought with small drones even cheaper than those used in LOCUST, but the tactics they discover may shape the future of warfare.
When a swarm of drones heads for an American carrier some time in the future, they might be intercepted by a defensive swarm. What happens next — whether the aircraft on the carrier’s deck are destroyed, or whether the attackers are beaten off — will depend on which side has the best grasp of an entirely new form of warfare.

Daniel
The Book of Daniel, like The Revelation in the N.T., is called an apocalypse, as are also, Isaiah 24-27 (the Isaiah Apocalypse), and the visions in Zechariah. “Apocalypse” means unveiling. When wickedness seemed supreme in the world, and evil-powers were, an apocalypse was given to show the real situation behind that which was apparent, and to indicate the eventual victory of righteousness upon the earth. Apocalyptic writing uses many figures and symbols, God used this literary form to convey His truth to His people.
The author of this book, Daniel, whose name means God is my judge, was taken in his youth to Babylon in the first deportation under Nebuchadnezzar. He soon excelled in wisdom in this land famous for its wise men, and ultimately rose to become first among the three highest officers of the Medo-Persian Empire (5:29; 6:1-3). His life in Babylon extended to at least 530 B.C.
Daniel is a book of kings and kingdoms, of thrones and dominions. While including a number of historical records, it embodies prophecies of the sequence of kingdoms in “the times of the Gentiles” (Lk 21:24; see Rev. 16:19, note) and portrays the end of this period. It voices the only prophecy in the O.T. (9:24-27) that sets the time of Christ’s first advent.
The historical events in Daniel, occurring at the beginning of the times of the Gentiles, illustrate events prophetically set forth in the book as taking place at the end of this period and culminating catastrophically in the termination of Gentile world rule at the return of Christ, the Messiah. Thus, the persecution of the children of God in chs. 3 and 6 foreshadows the more severe and universal persecution of God’s people (rather people left behind from the rapture) to take place at the end of this age (7:25; 8:24; 12:1); likewise, the blasphemous repudiation of the God of Israel, as in 5:1-4; 6:5-12, will appear in a more universal form and even greater intensity at the end of the age (7:25; 9:26; 11:37,38)
This book is referred to or quoted many times in the N.T. (cp. especially our Lord’s reference to Daniel in Mt. 24:15; Mk. 13:14) and is the key to The Revelation. It exercised a great influence upon the early church; its scheme of four successive empires dominated European historiography until the middle of the eighteenth century.

note 1 (2:31) The vision prophetically portrays the course of world empire and its destruction by Christ, who called this period “the times of the Gentiles” (Lk 21:24; see Rev. 16:19, note). The (Page 898) four metals composing the image are explained as symbolizing four empires (vv. 38-40), not necessarily possessing the earth but divinely authorized to do so (v. 38), and fulfilled in Babylon (1), Medo-Persia (2), Greece (3) (under Alexander) and Rome (4). The latter power is seen divided, first into two (the legs), fulfilled in the Eastern and Western Roman Empires, and then into ten (the toes) (5) (see Dan 7:26, note). As a whole, the image gives the imposing outward greatness and splendor of the Gentile world power.
The Smiting Stone (2:34-35) destroys the Gentile world system (in its final form) by a sudden and irremediable blow, not by the gradual processes of conversion and assimilation; and then and not before, does the Stone become a mountain which fills “the whole earth” (cp, Dan 7:26-27). Such a destruction of the Gentile monarchy system did not occur at the first advent of Christ. On the contrary, He was put to death by the sentence of an officer of the fourth empire, which was then at the zenith of its power. After Christ’s death the western part of the Roman Empire fell in A.D. 476 and the eastern part in 1453, but no other world empire has superseded Rome because only four empires (**See Dan 2:35, 41-44; The ‘ten toes,’ the Ottoman Empire Caliphates) will precede Christ’s return and rule. The interposition of the Church Age between the first and second advents of Christ, as revealed in the N.T., is not a part of this vision. The deadly wound suffered by the fourth empire will not be healed by the restoration of the empire until the Church Age has been completed by the rapture of the Church (Rev 13:3) (**See Dan 2:35, 41-44; The ‘ten toes,’ the Ottoman Empire Caliphates). Thus Gentile world power still continues, and the crushing blow is still suspended. The detail of the end-time is given in Dan 7 and Rev. 13-19, It is important to observe that (1) Gentile world power is to end in a sudden catastrophic judgment (See Armageddon, Rev. 16:13-16; 19:17, note); and (2) it is immediately to be followed by the kingdom of heaven. The God of the heavens will not set up His kingdom until after the destruction of the Gentile world system. It is noteworthy that Gentile world dominion begins and ends with a great image (Dan 2:31; Rev 13:14-15).
This Stone must not be identified with the Church, as some hold, for the task of the Church is never said to be the destruction of the nations of the earth.

State asks for delay in response to petition against illegal construction by UN in Jerusalem, seeks to tour compound with UN permission.
The Jerusalem District Court last week ordered the Jerusalem Municipality and the Israel Land Authority to respond to the petition filed last week by Regavim against the United Nations over an illegal construction boom at the UN headquarters in the Armon Hanatziv neighborhood, which belongs to the State of Israel.
The state, for its part, has filed a request for an additional postponement to the Jerusalem District Court, which indicates that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has been in contact with various elements of the UN, and has asked the UN to allow a visit by professional bodies on behalf of the State of Israel.
The representatives of the Foreign Ministry also held a preliminary visit to the site, during which UN representatives claimed that the construction work currently under way without building permits from the Jerusalem Municipality and without the consent of the State of Israel belongs to the area, as “arising from the need for essential renovations in the historic building, which was erected in 1929.”
The state explained its request for an additional period, also because of “the need to formulate the State’s position on the legal aspects [of the case], including aspects relating to the immunity of the UN, as well as the need to further clarify the factual basis and the continuation of diplomatic contacts with the UN.”]

note 2 (7:25) The terms found in the O.T. and N.T. referring to specific lengths of time in future events require careful consideration, so as to avoid fantastic speculations. The first occurrence of a reference to a period of three and one-half years in the prophetic future is the expression “time, times and the dividing of time” found here. It is also in Dan. 12:7 and Rev. 12:14. This is the same length of time as one-half of the final seven-year period (9:27), and is likewise the period of time expressed in the term “forty and two months” (Rev. 11:2; 13:5), or “a thousand two hundred and threescore days” (Rev. 12:6).
The three-and=one-half-year period seems to be a reference to the last half of Daniel’s seventieth week, also known as the great tribulation.
note 3 (7:26) The end of Gentile world power. (1) In the beast vision of ch. 7, the fourth beast (v. 7) is declared to be “the fourth kingdom,” i.e. the Roman Empire, the “iron” kingdom of ch. 2. The “ten horns” upon the fourth beast (Roman Empire), v. 7, are declared to be “ten kings that shall arise” (v. 24), answering to the ten toes of the image vision of ch. 2. The ten kingdoms, including the regions formerly ruled by Rome, will constitute, therefore, the form in which the fourth or Roman Empire will exist when the whole fabric of Gentile world domination is smitten by the “stone cut out without hands,” i.e. Christ (2:44-45; 7:9). ISIS grew into a force so strong it destroyed existing countries. There were no reports that clearly indicated these countries collapsing because Iran took over where ISIS failed. Islamic State militants were planning a new Caliphate when the US led by President Trump wounded them so severely and killed the ISIS leader they fell apart in 2019.

State asks for delay in response to petition against illegal construction by UN in Jerusalem, seeks to tour compound with UN permission.
The Jerusalem District Court last week ordered the Jerusalem Municipality and the Israel Land Authority to respond to the petition filed last week by Regavim against the United Nations over an illegal construction boom at the UN headquarters in the Armon Hanatziv neighborhood, which belongs to the State of Israel.
The state, for its part, has filed a request for an additional postponement to the Jerusalem District Court, which indicates that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has been in contact with various elements of the UN, and has asked the UN to allow a visit by professional bodies on behalf of the State of Israel.
The representatives of the Foreign Ministry also held a preliminary visit to the site, during which UN representatives claimed that the construction work currently under way without building permits from the Jerusalem Municipality and without the consent of the State of Israel belongs to the area, as “arising from the need for essential renovations in the historic building, which was erected in 1929.”
The state explained its request for an additional period, also because of “the need to formulate the State’s position on the legal aspects [of the case], including aspects relating to the immunity of the UN, as well as the need to further clarify the factual basis and the continuation of diplomatic contacts with the UN.”
The suit filed by the Regavim movement last month noted the flood of serious building violations committed by the UN in recent years, including concrete castings in the historic building, the construction of an illegal multi-story office building, a hangar storage and a pirate gas station that is also an environmental hazard.
After the liberation of Jerusalem, the Israeli government gave UNTSO, a UN agency, the right to use the area, free of charge, to supervise the cease-fire between Israel and its neighbors after the war.
The United Nations agencies UNTSO and UNSCO are currently operating in the compound, alongside the office of UN envoy to the Middle East Nikolai Maldanov, who is conducting blatant and hostile anti-Israel activity and which Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman has proposed to boycott.
At the end of last week, it was announced that during the celebration of Israel’s 69th Independence Day in Jerusalem, the UN Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization is expected to adopt a resolution according to which the State of Israel is not the sovereign in Jerusalem. Last year, the UNESCO Executive Committee adopted the PA proposal which denied the Jewish connection to the Temple Mount and the Western Wall, a decision that caused great anger in the Israeli government. This brings Qatar into conflict with the Saudis and the United Arab Emirates, both of whom consider Iran to be their primary foe. Doha claimed that the report was falsified, but the Saudis didn’t buy it and continuously decried Qatar in their own state-run media. “Doha’s insistence in denying the issue is marginal because in reality, on the ground, Qatar confirms it adopts the policies that it is now trying to deny,” read a Monday editorial in Saudi-owned newspaper Al-Hayat.
Qatar has always been the black sheep of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC): while the Kingdom and the UAE consider the Muslim Brotherhood a terrorist group, Qatar has traditionally backed them. When the Brotherhood seized control of Egypt after the 2011 Arab Spring, this caused a ripple effect that has soured Qatar’s relationship with the Saudis and Emiratis.
Some analysts have claimed that Trump’s recent statements have opened the floodgates to renew an old regional rivalry. “When Trump gave fulsome support in Riyadh and said, ‘let’s isolate Iran’ that sent a signal to the UAE and Saudi, which felt emboldened and said: let’s let loose everything we have on Qatar,” said Gerd Nonneman, professor of International Relations and Gulf Studies at Georgetown University in Qatar.
With dissent in the ranks of their rivals, Iran is laughing their way to the bank. Pro-government Iranian newspaper Kayhan wrote that the bickering was evidence of the Saudis inability to “form an alliance.
A US diplomat in Doha worried that, if the row continues, “the GCC could harm it own interests in this fight and is at risk of becoming more vulnerable to Iranian encroachment.” Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani will be meeting with Saudi emir counterpart Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmad al-Sabah in Kuwait to try to ease tensions.
The hesitation wasn’t limited to Qatar. Iraqi foreign minister Ibrahim al-Ja’afari said that his country “would never join the anti-Iran coalition” in an interview with Spanish newspaper ABC. Instead he pointed to Turkey, which he accused of illegally maintaining a military presence in Iraq since 2015. Iran, the old enemy of Iraq, is a comparatively insignificant challenge according to al-Ja’afari.
Twenty-five hundred miles away in Pakistan, Islamabad has been unreceptive to Saudi and American offers to join an anti-Iran alliance. Pakistan’s government initially was happy to participate in the Saudi-led Islamic Military Alliance against Terrorism (IMAT), but they pumped the brakes on that decision when the Saudis suggested IMAT would counter Iran as well.

The OIC adopted the Cairo Declaration on Human Rights in Islam to serve as a guidance for the member states in the matters of human rights in as much as they are compatible with the Sharia, or Quranic Law.
An official from the pan-Arab bloc told AFP Arabi had “instructed the Arab League’s UN representative to initiate urgent consultations within the Arab group calling for an emergency security meeting of the Security Council.”

The third rider will bring economic collapse to the world. God will allow him to do this. Food will be so valuable it will have to be weighed on scales before it is sold. Money will be so worthless that what a man earns in one day will purchase barely enough for one person to survive on. It definitely seems that America, and perhaps the entire world, has forgotten that a good economy is a blessing of God and not a benefit of having the right kind of politician in office. This moral confusion will be disastrous in the days to come. “Perilous times” also includes starvation and sickness, and two more signs of the last days Jesus talked about are “famine” and “pestilence” (Matthew 24:7). God will release a fourth horse and rider that will fulfill this. John said, “I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth” (Revelation 6:8). God will allow this horse and rider. One-fourth of the world’s population will die as war and economic disaster spreads like wildfire triggering hunger and disease on earth.
