THE BOOK OF LIFE

The Book of Life is mentioned in scripture from Genesis to Revelation.  It is clear every person’s names are all entered into the Book of Life, else how could it be erased.

‘This [is] the book of the generations of Adam. In the day that God created man, in the likeness of God made he him’ (Genesis 5:1)

‘Now if You would only forgive their sin. But if not, please erase me from the book You have written.” The Lord replied to Moses: “Whoever has sinned against Me I will erase from My book.’ (Exodus 32:32,33)

‘Make sure there is no man or woman, clan or tribe among you today whose heart turns away from the LORD our God.’ ‘The Lord will blot out his name under heaven.’ (Deuteronomy 29:18,20).

‘Blot out his name under heaven,’ blotting or erasing a name from the Book of Life.  God is telling Moses, when one turns away from God and refuses to believe in God the Savior, He ‘will blot out his name under heaven.’ Deut 29:20 KJV

‘A river of fire was flowing, coming out from His presence. Thousands upon thousands served Him; ten thousand times ten thousand stood before Him. The court was convened, and the books were opened.’ (Daniel 7:10)

‘And at that time your people shall be delivered, Every one who is found written in the book. And many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, Some to everlasting life, Some to shame and everlasting contempt.’ (Dan 12:1,2)

‘Anyone who has an ear should listen to what the Spirit says to the churches. I will give the victor some of the hidden manna. I will also give him a white stone, and on the stone a new name is inscribed that no one knows except the one who receives it.’ (Revelation 2:17)

‘All who dwell on the earth will worship him, whose names have not been written in the Book of Life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.’ (Revelation 13:8)

‘And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.’ (Revelation 20:12,15)

A new name will be given to us. With our names being in ‘the Book of Life’ from the beginning this may be the name inscribed on the stone God will give to us. When you accept Christ as your Savior you will be given the Holy Spirit to mark you as a child of God and your name will never be erased from the Book of Life.

‘You Yourself have recorded my wanderings. Put my tears in Your bottle. Are they not in Your records?’ (Psalm 56:8)

Records are being kept in books in heaven.

‘Let them be erased from the book of life and not be recorded with the righteous.’ (Psalm 69:28)

God has given every life since Adam a name, a name which he has given to each and every seed that would ever exist and recorded them in The Book of Life. Our Creator knows each by name. Not the name you know, but the name God has given you. This is an example of how The Book of Life might look. God has given you a name, when you accept Jesus Christ as Savior, then sealed you by God The Holy Spirit, given a white garment, given eternal life never to be erased from the Book of Life.

‘God who has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace, which was given to us in Christ Jesus before time began. This has now been made evident through the appearing of our Savior Christ Jesus, who has abolished death and has brought life and immortality to light through the gospel.’ (2 Timothy 1:9-10)

‘The victor will be given a white garment, and I will never erase his name from the book of life, but will acknowledge his name before My Father and before His angels.’ (Revelation 3:5)

“‘And those who dwell on the earth will marvel, whose names are not written in the Book of Life from the foundation of the world, when they see the beast that was, and is not, and yet is.’” (Revelation 17:8) These are those whose names are not written in the Book of Life: [[Update 2/27/19 – I may have a clue now as to who’s names are NOT written ‘in the Book of Life from the foundation of the world.’ Dr. Michael Heiser has written a book called ‘The Unseen Realm’ and it speaks of the ‘sons of God’ (beney elohim),divine beings, not human. The apkallus, were the watchers Daniel speaks of. They were divine beings, God had created, but some were ‘bad seeds’ (as Heiser calls them). Genesis Chapter 6, verses 1-4 tells us they chose human-kind women to mate with. Their seed were called  the Nephilim. Described as 2/3rds divine beings and 1/3 humankind. They are the ‘fallen ones’ of which 2 Peter and Jude speaks of. The book Enoch 1 tells us more about them. It is now my conclusion these creatures are the ones to which this verse speaks. The Nephilim do not have their names written in the Book of Life from the foundation of the world.]] (The ‘rod of mine anger’ he called the Assyrian. [Isa 10:5-6 KJV] 5 O Assyrian, the rod of mine anger, and the staff in their hand is mine indignation. 6 I will send him against an hypocritical nation, and against the people of my wrath will I give him a charge, to take the spoil, and to take the prey, and to tread them down like the mire of the streets. God used these people as a way to discipline his people. I have concluded they are not in his Book of Life from the foundation of the world.)

‘Standing before the throne, and books were opened. Another book was opened, which is the book of life, and the dead were judged according to their works by what was written in the books.’ (Revelation 20:15)

‘And if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part from the Book* of Life, from the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.’ (Revelation 22:19)

‘O Death, where is your victory? O Death, where is your sting?’ 1 Cor 15:55

Christ the Savior!

Now if you are wondering, how can I keep my name in the Book of Life you will understand the ‘only’ way is to believe the Truth. “Faith in the Christ, the Son of God. He came to be with His people and to die for our sins and to rise from the grave to live eternally in heaven and to lead the way for us to rise from our grave to live with him forever in heaven.”

‘Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ who has blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ, according as he has chosen us in Him (note: the Him is – ‘Christ’) before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love; (note: the Him is – ‘Christ’) Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will, to the praise of the glory of His grace, wherein He hath made us accepted in the Beloved (Jesus Christ).’ (Ephesians 1:3-11)

The mystery of Christ, to be specific is that the Gentiles are fellow heirs, and fellow members of the body (of Christ), and fellow partakers of the promise in Christ Jesus, through the Gospel, and the administration of ‘the mystery’ is through the church. God’s plan is being worked out through the Church, in conformity to that timeless purpose which he centered in Jesus, our Lord. ‘When I think of the greatness of this great plan I fall on my knees before God the Father. That Christ may actually live in your hearts by faith,’ awesome, amazing. Before the foundation of the world, God the Father, according to the good pleasure of His will, decided (foreknew) to predestinate all who believe in the Beloved (Christ), to give them eternal life. It is ‘… the mystery of Christ…’ ‘which in other ages was not made known unto the sons of men, as it is now revealed unto his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit;’ (Ephesians 3: 4) …. ‘which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ;’ (3:9)……. ‘according to the eternal purpose which he purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord:’ (3:11). ‘…..and ..if the rulers and kings of this age had known it they would not have crucified him’ (1 Corinthians 2:7-8).

‘Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to His saints; To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory: Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus:’ (Colossians 1:26 – 27)

‘Now to Him who has power to strengthen you according to my gospel and the proclamation of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the sacred secret kept silent for long ages, but now revealed and made known through the prophetic Scriptures, according to the command of the eternal God, to advance the obedience of faith among all: To God, only wise, be glory through Jesus Christ forever. Amen.’ (Romans 16:25)

‘For God so loved the world He gave His One and Only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world that He might condemn the world, but that the world might be saved through Him. Anyone who believes in Him is not condemned, but anyone who does not believe is already condemned, because he has not believed in the name of the One and Only Son of God.’ (John 3:16-18)

Already condemned because before the foundation of the world God planned, anyone who does not believe in Jesus Christ will not be saved. The only way to salvation is through faith in Jesus Christ.

‘The one who believes in the Son has eternal life, but the one who refuses to believe in the Son will not see life; instead, the wrath of God remains on him.’ (John 3:36)

What is ‘the Gospel?’

What is the ‘Good News?’ It is the story of the birth, life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ and the Kingdom of God.

‘You know of Jesus of Nazareth, how God anointed Him with the Holy Spirit and with power, and how He went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him. We are witnesses of all the things He did both in the land of the Jews, and in Jerusalem. They also put Him to death by hanging Him on a cross. God raised Him up on the third day and granted that He become visible, not to all the people, but to witnesses who were chosen beforehand by God, that is, to us who ate and drank with Him after He arose from the dead. And He ordered us to preach to the people, and solemnly to testify that this is the One who has been appointed by God as Judge of the living and the dead. Of Him all the prophets bear witness that through His name everyone who believes in Him receives forgiveness of sins.’ (Acts 10:38-43)

‘By this gospel you are saved, ‘that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures,’ (1 Corinthians 15: 2-4)

“From (King David’s), descendants  according to the promise, God brought the Savior, Jesus, to Israel. Before He came to public attention, John had previously proclaimed a baptism of repentance to all the people of Israel, (they already practiced cleansing prior to entering the Temple, so this baptism was not something they did not understand). Then as John was completing his life work, he said, ‘Who do you think I am? I am not the One. But look! Someone is coming after me, and I am not worthy to untie the sandals on His feet.’ Brothers, sons of Abraham’s race, and those among you who fear God, the message of this salvation has been sent to us. For the residents of Jerusalem and their rulers, since they did not recognize Him or the voices of the prophets that are read every Sabbath, have fulfilled their words by condemning Him. Though they found no grounds for the death penalty, they asked Pilate to have Him killed. When they had fulfilled all that had been written about Him, they took Him down from the tree and put Him in a tomb. But God raised Him from the dead, and He appeared for many days to those who came up with Him from Galilee to Jerusalem, who are now His witnesses to the people. And we ourselves proclaim to you the good news of the promise that was made to our forefathers. God has fulfilled this to us their children by raising up Jesus, as it is written in the second Psalm: You are My Son; today I have become Your Father. Since He raised Him from the dead, never to return to decay, He has spoken in this way, ‘I will grant you the faithful covenant blessings made to David.’ Therefore He also says in another passage, ‘You will not allow Your Holy One to see decay.’ For David, after serving his own generation in God’s plan, fell asleep, was buried with his fathers, and decayed. But the One whom God raised up did not decay. Therefore, let it be known to you, brothers, that through this man you may be declared righteous (forgiveness of sins is being proclaimed to you), and everyone who believes in Him is declared righteous (justified from everything), which you could not be declared righteous (justified from) through the law of Moses. So beware that what is said in the prophets does not happen to you: ‘Look, you scoffers, marvel and vanish away, because I am doing a work in your days, a work that you will never believe, even if someone were to explain it to you.’ ” (Acts 13:23-41 HCSB and Young’s Literal Translation (YLT))

[Heb 7:4-10 KJV] (Melchisedec) 4 Now consider how great this man [was], unto whom even the patriarch Abraham gave the tenth of the spoils. 5 And verily they that are of the sons of Levi, who receive the office of the priesthood, have a commandment to take tithes of the people according to the law, that is, of their brethren, though they come out of the loins of Abraham: 6 But he whose descent is not counted from them received tithes of Abraham, and blessed him that had the promises. 7 And without all contradiction the less is blessed of the better. 8 And here men that die receive tithes; but there he [receiveth them], of whom it is witnessed that he liveth. 9 And as I may so say, Levi also, who receiveth tithes, payed tithes in Abraham. 10 For he was yet in the loins of his father, when Melchisedec met him.
