The ‘scarlet coloured beast’ (of Rev 17) is both, the coalition of kings/nations/countries and the beast, a leader/man.
‘The Beast’ of Rev 13 could look like this! The irresistible leader of Dan 11!

Tillerson made the comments after what he called a “fruitful” meeting with U.N. Syria envoy Staffan de Mistura, who later announced plans to resume U.N.-mediated peace Syrian talks on Nov. 28. It will be the eighth such round under his mediation in Geneva since early 2016.
“I see Iran as a hanger-on,” Tillerson said. “Iran has not been successful; the Russian government has been more successful. We have had success. I don’t think that Iran should be given credit for the defeat of ISIS in Syria.”
Tillerson met with de Mistura during a stop in Geneva on his way home from a trip to the Middle East and South Asia. Officials said Tillerson had initially planned to meet with officials from the U.N. refugee and migration agencies and the head of the International Committee of the Red Cross, but those meetings did not take place during his short visit in Geneva.
***10/18/17 http://www.foxnews.com/world/2017/10/18/is-isis-defeated-in-iraq-and-syria.html It’s unclear how — or if — Baghdadi plans to maintain or recapture ISIS’ lost territory in Syria and Iraq. The leader’s establishment of a “caliphate” after seizing control of Mosul in 2014 signaled the group plan to branch into other countries. ISIS is reportedly operational in 18 countries, including Afghanistan, Pakistan and Libya, the U.S. National Counterterrorism Center said in an August 2016 report. It also has “aspiring branches” in Bangladesh, Indonesia and the Philippines.
More fighters are expected to flow to Libya after the recent losses in Syria and Iraq. One U.S. official affiliated with the GNA, who requested anonymity, told Fox News in July the “political and security vacuum” that existed in Libya after longtime leader Muammar Qaddafi’s death in 2011 “allowed ISIS to take root.”
“ISIS still poses a threat not just to Libya,” the U.S official added. “But to its neighbors, Europe and the United States.”
Libya has been marred by conflict after 2011. The country also has Africa’s largest reserves. Its oil fields and reserves are located south of Sirte.
The group still holds about 81 miles of the Euphrates River Valley inside eastern central Syria. The war on ISIS has already shifted to the Deir el-Zour province that holds much of Syria’s oil and gas resources – which has been a key component of ISIS’ success in maintaining power and funding its barbaric reign.

10/11/17 http://www.israelnationalnews.com/News/News.aspx/236613 Rouhani: Blacklisting Revolutionary Guards a ‘mistake’.
Iranian President warns United States against blacklisting the Revolutionary Guards, says it would be a “mistake beyond mistakes”.
Iranian President Hassan Rouhani on Wednesday warned the United States against blacklisting the Revolutionary Guards, Reuters reported.
U.S. President Donald Trump is expected to decertify Iran’s nuclear deal with world powers this week and add its Revolutionary Guards military force to Washington’s black list of terrorist groups.
During a cabinet meeting shown on state television on Wednesday, Rouhani said U.S. action against the Guards would be a “mistake beyond mistakes”.
“They think that the Guards are a military entity. The Revolutionary Guards are not a military entity. They’re in the heart of the people. The Revolutionary Guards, in all the days of danger, have defended our national interests,” he said, according to Reuters.
“We’re one society. We’re Iran. There are no differences between different factions in confronting the plots of our enemies,” stressed the Iranian president.
Rouhani’s warning marks the third time in recent days that Iranian officials have warned Trump against blacklisting the powerful Revolutionary Guards.
On Tuesday, Ali Akbar Velayati, the top adviser to Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, stressed that “all options are on the table” if the U.S. goes ahead with the move.
A day earlier, a spokesman for Iran’s foreign ministry promised a “crushing” response if Trump decertifies the deal and blacklists the Revolutionary Guards.
“We are hopeful that the United States does not make this strategic mistake,” the spokesman Bahram Qasemi said.
“If they do, Iran’s reaction would be firm, decisive and crushing and the United States should bear all its consequences,” he added.
Qasemi’s warning came a day after IRGC commander Mohammad Ali Jafari warned that U.S. regional military bases would be at risk if further sanctions were passed on the IRGC.
“If the news is correct about the stupidity of the American government in considering the Revolutionary Guards a terrorist group, then the Revolutionary Guards will consider the American army to be like Islamic State all around the world,” he threatened.
Rouhani’s warning appears to mark a change of heart for him. The president, touted by the West as a “moderate”, won re-election in a landslide five months ago and, as part of his campaign, he repeatedly spoke out in public against the political influence of the Guards.
In recent days, however, it appears the threat of new action from Washington has prompted a public display of unity from the rival factions among Iran’s rulers.
“Today, the president of America has created conditions where Iran is more united than ever. Today, those who oppose the nuclear deal and those who support it are side by side. We all have one voice,” Rouhani said, according to Reuters.

Most of his speech was devoted to boasting about the battles his movement was fighting with the Syrian and Lebanese armies against Al Qaeda’s Nusra Front rebels in the Qalamoun Mountains, which he claimed had ended in “a great military victory.” *7/18/17 http://www.timesofisrael.com/idf-doubles-down-on-accusing-hezbollah-of-hiding-behind-ngo/ Army releases videos showing operatives from the Iran-backed terrorist group watching Israeli activities from the Lebanese border.

Arabic media has reported that Iran constructed at least two missile factories within Lebanon, capable of producing medium-range rockets and other weaponry. Israel also fears that some advanced surface-to-sea and anti-aircraft weapons systems have reached Hezbollah from Iran.
Last month, Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah warned Israel against attacking Lebanon or Syria, saying “hundreds of thousands” of Arab and Muslim fighters would be ready to strike back.
“The Israeli enemy should know that if it launches an attack on Syria or Lebanon, it’s unknown whether the fighting will stay just between Lebanon and Israel, or Syria and Israel,” he said in a speech to mark Jerusalem (Quds) Day, an annual show of solidarity with the Palestinians marked by marches and speeches that rail against Israel and the West.

With Russia’s help, the Syrian regime and Shiite axis are vanquishing the opposition – and drawing dangerously close to Israel’s border.
The Shiite axis is on the march, and the Islamic State is no longer in the breach, where it was keeping the Shiites occupied. The unofficial Israeli approach to the Syrian conflict, a prayer for the success of both sides, is becoming increasingly irrelevant as one side — that of the regime — pummels the other.
The consequences of the latest developments in Syria and Iraq are echoing in Lebanon in the form of belligerent declarations by Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah. On Friday, Nasrallah vowed that his group’s next war with Israel will pave a path for “thousands, perhaps hundreds of thousands of fighters from all the Arab states and the Islamic world” to fall upon the Jewish state.

Syria’s civil war has left at least 400,000 people dead and driven more than 11 million people from their homes, and the United States has been calling for Assad to go nearly from the start of the uprising against him more than six an a half years ago.
De Mistura announced the Nov. 28 date for the resumption of the intra-Syrian talks in an address by video conference to the U.N. Security Council following the Tillerson meeting. He said it was time to move on the political track to end the conflict, saying “now is the moment of truth.”
“It would be a mistake by all of us if we think that time is on our side,” the special envoy said. “The best way to proceed requires indeed instead an intensified engagement among the key players in support of the Geneva parties.”
De Mistura said he would work to move into “real negotiation on a constitution and U.N.-supervised elections” while exploring the issue of governance and terrorism “in parallel” files. He expressed openness to any initiative that contributes to the U.N.-led process in Geneva.
Opposition delegations – which do not include Islamic State or other U.N.-designated terrorist groups – have never spoken directly to Syrian government envoys under de Mistura’s mediation.
Tillerson sought to play down any idea that the Syrian government’s advances might amount to a “triumph” for Iran, which has been a key backer of Assad.
“I see Iran as a hanger-on,” Tillerson said. “Iran has not been successful; the Russian government has been more successful. We have had success. I don’t think that Iran should be given credit for the defeat of ISIS in Syria.”

Speaking after the agreement was signed, Arouri, who headed the Hamas delegation that negotiated the deal, said Palestinian unity was vital “so that we can all work together against the Zionist enterprise, which seeks to wipe out and trample the rights of our people.”
“We in Hamas are determined, serious and sincere this time and every time to end the division,” Arouri said. “We have adopted the strategy of one step at a time so that the reconciliation will succeed.”
Seated alongside him, Azzam al-Ahmad, the head of the Fatah delegation for the talks, said he had been instructed by Abbas to end the rift between the rival factions so that all the Palestinian people’s strength could be unified, “headed by Fatah and Hamas.”

Walid al-Moallem said during a visit to Russia on Wednesday that the U.S.-led coalition has been “methodically destroying all except the IS.” He claimed that Washington aims to destroy Syria’s economy and drag the war out.
Al-Moallem said the Kurds are now vying for control of oilfields in eastern Syria and warned that Syria will reassert its sovereignty over the area. The Syrian army under Russian air cover has raced for control of oilfields in the eastern Deir el-Zour province.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said at the start of his talks with al-Moallem in Sochi that he would like to focus on a political settlement in Syria.

This comes after the two sides exchanged fire on Wednesday.
The senior official, Naser Haj Mansour, told Reuters that the SDF would confront the Turks “if they try to go beyond the known lines.” Turkish forces are there to support anti-government, primarily Islamist Syrian rebels.
On Wednesday, the Turkish military announced they had shelled YPG positions in response to a YPG attack on a Turkey-backed rebel group. Mansour said that the SDF had returned fire.
“We disagree with the Turkish position that the YPG and the PKK are the same organization. The Coalition recognizes the threat the PKK poses to Turkey, but Turkey cannot pursue that fight at the expense of our common fight against terrorists that threaten us all,” said a US official to ARA News.
Turkey’s deputy prime minister, Numan Kurtulmus, reiterated Ankara’s opposition to the US arming YPG combatants, calling it the “wrong path.” He also vowed that Turkey would retaliate against any additional YPG attacks against the militant groups Ankara backs.

*7/17/17 http://www.debka.com/article/26148/Israel-Syrian-truce-plan-license-for-Iran-foothold Israel waited 10 days from Presidents Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin’s announcement in Hamburg of their ceasefire plan for southwestern Syria along the borders with Jordan and Syria, before proclaiming its “total opposition” to the plan. On Sunday, July 16, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu announced publicly, after meeting President Emmanuel Macron in Paris, that the plan was unacceptable.
An official in the party that accompanied him to the Elysée Palace explained to reporters that Israel objected to a truce that could be used as a vehicle for “perpetuating” Iran’s presence in Syria and on its own border. Iran is not just sending advisers to Syria, the official said, but large-scale military forces to establish in Syria an airbase for Iranian aircraft and a naval base for Iran’s navy.
“This already changes the picture in the region from what it has been up to now,” he said.
According to DEBKAfile’s military and intelligence sources, Israel was finally galvanized into making an unqualified stand against the US-Russian ceasefire plan by discovering how it was being implemented: When last week Russian troops moved into Daraa in southern Syria to police the ceasefire in that embattled town, the Syrian army withdrew – but the Hizballah forces fighting with Assad’s army did not.
A few days later, Hizballah’s elite Kalibat Radwan brigade was seen digging in at Daraa, 1km from the Jordanian border, and preparing to resume the offensive at a moment’s notice for driving Syrian rebels from the town.
This was despite the assurances Washington and Moscow had broadcast that the departure of Iranian and Hizballah forces from the ceasefire zones would be ascertained.

6/15/17 http://www.debka.com/article/26101/Will-Trump-make-a-peace-breakthrough-in-2018- US President Donald Trump’s goal of generating a rapid improvement of Israel’s ties with the Arab world, including the Palestinians in 2018, is not just up to Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas, but depends largely on how the Trump administration handles the continuing conflict between Qatar and its powerful Arab opponents, Egypt, Saudi Arabia and the UAE.
Up until the end of this week, Trump had turned down the efforts of Secretary of State Rex Tillerson and Secretary of Defense James Mattis to resolve the Gulf conflict by diplomacy. Instead of heeding them, the president took the advice of the Saudi defense minister, Prince Mohammed bin Salman, and Saudi Foreign Minister Adel Al-Jubeir, who visited Washington this week. Tillerson and Mattis tried to arrange a conference between Saudi Arabia and Qatar so as to gradually ease the tensions, but Trump torpedoed the initiative by adopting Riyadh’s tough line.
A complex situation has arisen in the last few days regarding the US diplomacy for bringing Israel and the Palestinians aboard a peace process. The signs of movement on this score fluctuate between crises and some progress:
In other words, the year 2018 will see the building of normal relations between Israel and Arab countries to be followed at a later date by the Israeli-Palestinian peace process. President Trump has clearly seized on relations with Riyadh, Cairo and Abu Dhabi as a lever for pushing Israel and the Palestinians into peace talks.

1/5/16 http://www.timesofisrael.com/in-the-iran-saudi-arabia-conflict-a-clash-of-civilizations/ The cold war between the two regional powers is likely to heat up, reviving an age-old sectarian war between Sunni and Shiite Islam in which every country and group in the Middle East will have to choose a side.
Consider the list: Lebanon, where for more than a year and a half there has been no president, partly because of the tension between Saudi Arabia and Iran; Yemen, where a civil war is being waged with the direct intervention of Saudi forces and Iranian advisers; Syria, of course, where Iran’s Revolutionary Guards are fighting militias funded by Riyadh; Iraq (which is in many ways similar to Syria in that regard); and even the West Bank, where the Iranians give financial support to the Islamic Jihad, to the A-Sabireen movement in Gaza and, to a limited extent, to Hamas.
And indeed, nearly all the actors in the Middle Eastern arena now understand that the Iranian declarations are not hollow and that Tehran will try to give them substance in the form of an attack on the Saudi kingdom.
Any revenge attack via Shiite actors will draw a Saudi response. Which means, as the London-based site Al Araby Al Jadeed wrote Monday, the cold war will heat up suddenly into a more much more dangerous confrontation between the two countries.
It has to be said that this crisis, which is likely to lead to a clash of the two civilizations, Shiite and Sunni, does not come as much of a shock.
Hamas is not alone. From now on, the name of the game in our region is that every country or organization will have to choose a side. The Israeli-Arab conflict no longer interests decision-makers in Riyadh or Cairo; rather the battle for the future of the Middle East between Shiites and Sunnis occupies center stage.
Almost 1,400 years have passed since the first battles broke out within the Muslim world between the inheritors of the Prophet Muhammad, which led to the schism between Shiites and Sunnis, and it seems little has changed here: We are returning to the same very old sectarian war, which is likely to lead to severe ongoing bloodshed that will once again shape the face of the region.

The emirate of Dubai is located on the southeast coast of the Persian Gulf and is one of the seven emirates that make up the country. It has the largest population in the UAE (2,106,177) and the second-largest land territory (4,114 km2) after the capital, Abu Dhabi.[4] Abu Dhabi and Dubai are the only two emirates to have veto power over critical matters of national importance in the country’s legislature.[5] The city of Dubai is located on the emirate’s northern coastline and heads up the Dubai-Sharjah-Ajman metropolitan area. Dubai is often misperceived as a country or city-state and, in some cases, the UAE as a whole has been described as ‘Dubai’

Abu Dhabi (mixed Sunni,Shi’ite) houses important offices of the federal government, and is the seat for the UAE (United Arab Emirates Government) and the home for the Abu Dhabi Emiri Family and the President of the UAE from this family. The state has admitted for the first time that the extensive construction activity at the compound, including works to preserve the historic buildings there, as well as the construction of illegal structures inside the compound, have been carried out without permits, stating, “The planning and building laws of the State of Israel apply to the compound and to the works that are the subject of the petition; and the UN is expected to act in accordance with the principles of the relevant planning and building laws.”
Regavim also accused the UN contingency of illegally invading a large swath of state-owned land beyond the compound’s boundaries.

The Jerusalem District Court last week ordered the Jerusalem Municipality and the Israel Land Authority to respond to the petition filed last week by Regavim against the United Nations over an illegal construction boom at the UN headquarters in the Armon Hanatziv neighborhood, which belongs to the State of Israel.
The state, for its part, has filed a request for an additional postponement to the Jerusalem District Court, which indicates that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has been in contact with various elements of the UN, and has asked the UN to allow a visit by professional bodies on behalf of the State of Israel.
The representatives of the Foreign Ministry also held a preliminary visit to the site, during which UN representatives claimed that the construction work currently under way without building permits from the Jerusalem Municipality and without the consent of the State of Israel belongs to the area, as “arising from the need for essential renovations in the historic building, which was erected in 1929.”
The state explained its request for an additional period, also because of “the need to formulate the State’s position on the legal aspects [of the case], including aspects relating to the immunity of the UN, as well as the need to further clarify the factual basis and the continuation of diplomatic contacts with the UN.”
The suit filed by the Regavim movement last month noted the flood of serious building violations committed by the UN in recent years, including concrete castings in the historic building, the construction of an illegal multi-story office building, a hangar storage and a pirate gas station that is also an environmental hazard.
After the liberation of Jerusalem, the Israeli government gave UNTSO, a UN agency, the right to use the area, free of charge, to supervise the cease-fire between Israel and its neighbors after the war.
The United Nations agencies UNTSO and UNSCO are currently operating in the compound, alongside the office of UN envoy to the Middle East Nikolai Maldanov, who is conducting blatant and hostile anti-Israel activity and which Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman has proposed to boycott.
At the end of last week, it was announced that during the celebration of Israel’s 69th Independence Day in Jerusalem, the UN Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization is expected to adopt a resolution according to which the State of Israel is not the sovereign in Jerusalem. Last year, the UNESCO Executive Committee adopted the PA proposal which denied the Jewish connection to the Temple Mount and the Western Wall, a decision that caused great anger in the Israeli government. UN – (Mixed/leans Shi’ite) 5/30/17 http://www.israelnationalnews.com/News/News.aspx/230361 The Palestinian Authority (PA) on Monday urged the UN Security Council to take action to protect Jerusalem from Israeli attempts to “Judaize” the city, the Ma’an news agency reported.
The statement came a day after the Israeli Cabinet held its weekly meeting in the Western Wall tunnels instead of in the Knesset in order to honor Jerusalem Day, which was celebrated last week.
During the meeting, the ministers approved several projects important for Israel’s capital, including two projects intended to make the Western Wall more accessible for wheelchairs.
The PA bureau in charge of foreign affairs on Tuesday condemned Israel’s “Judaization campaign” in eastern Jerusalem, including a cable car project approved by the Cabinet at Sunday’s meeting and the planned construction of elevators and passages connecting the Western Wall to Jewish-majority neighborhoods in Jerusalem.
The Cabinet meeting in Jerusalem raised the ire of the Secretary General of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), Saeb Erekat, who said on Sunday that the “meeting in Occupied East Jerusalem is an attempt by the Israeli government to normalize occupation, oppression and colonization over the land and the people of Palestine.”

GCC (mixed Sunni, Shi’ite) – **6/1/17 The enemy of my enemy is my friend, but Iran doesn’t seem to be the enemy of all US allies. Qatari state media sources claimed that Qatar’s emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani cautioned against butting heads with Tehran, and have expressed support for Iran-backed groups such as Hamas and Hezbollah.
This brings Qatar into conflict with the Saudis and the United Arab Emirates, both of whom consider Iran to be their primary foe. Doha claimed that the report was falsified, but the Saudis didn’t buy it and continuously decried Qatar in their own state-run media. “Doha’s insistence in denying the issue is marginal because in reality, on the ground, Qatar confirms it adopts the policies that it is now trying to deny,” read a Monday editorial in Saudi-owned newspaper Al-Hayat.
Qatar has always been the black sheep of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC): while the Kingdom and the UAE consider the Muslim Brotherhood a terrorist group, Qatar has traditionally backed them. When the Brotherhood seized control of Egypt after the 2011 Arab Spring, this caused a ripple effect that has soured Qatar’s relationship with the Saudis and Emiratis.
Some analysts have claimed that Trump’s recent statements have opened the floodgates to renew an old regional rivalry. “When Trump gave fulsome support in Riyadh and said, ‘let’s isolate Iran’ that sent a signal to the UAE and Saudi, which felt emboldened and said: let’s let loose everything we have on Qatar,” said Gerd Nonneman, professor of International Relations and Gulf Studies at Georgetown University in Qatar.
With dissent in the ranks of their rivals, Iran is laughing their way to the bank. Pro-government Iranian newspaper Kayhan wrote that the bickering was evidence of the Saudis inability to “form an alliance.
A US diplomat in Doha worried that, if the row continues, “the GCC could harm it own interests in this fight and is at risk of becoming more vulnerable to Iranian encroachment.” Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani will be meeting with Saudi emir counterpart Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmad al-Sabah in Kuwait to try to ease tensions.
The hesitation wasn’t limited to Qatar. Iraqi foreign minister Ibrahim al-Ja’afari said that his country “would never join the anti-Iran coalition” in an interview with Spanish newspaper ABC. Instead he pointed to Turkey, which he accused of illegally maintaining a military presence in Iraq since 2015. Iran, the old enemy of Iraq, is a comparatively insignificant challenge according to al-Ja’afari.
Twenty-five hundred miles away in Pakistan, Islamabad has been unreceptive to Saudi and American offers to join an anti-Iran alliance. Pakistan’s government initially was happy to participate in the Saudi-led Islamic Military Alliance against Terrorism (IMAT), but they pumped the brakes on that decision when the Saudis suggested IMAT would counter Iran as well.

OIC – Arab League, Organization of Islamic Cooperation
Iyad bin Amin Madani Secretary General of OIC (Organization of Islamic Cooperation) plans to visit the Temple Mount in Jerusalem and meet with Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas.
Leaders of Muslim nations met in Rabat to establish the OIC on 25 September 1969.
The OIC adopted the Cairo Declaration on Human Rights in Islam to serve as a guidance for the member states in the matters of human rights in as much as they are compatible with the Sharia, or Quranic Law.
An official from the pan-Arab bloc told AFP Arabi had “instructed the Arab League’s UN representative to initiate urgent consultations within the Arab group calling for an emergency security meeting of the Security Council.”
An international organization founded in 1969 consisting of 57 member states. The organisation states that it is “the collective voice of the Muslim world” and works to “safeguard and protect the interests of the Muslim world in the spirit of promoting international peace and harmony”. The OIC has permanent delegations to the United Nations and the European Union. The official languages of the OIC are Arabic, English, and French. – 4/16/16 http://www.timesofisrael.com/islamic-summit-raps-iran-over-terror-support/ President Hassan Rouhani ditches final session in protest of OIC’s criticism of Tehran’s ‘interference in the internal affairs’ of Mideast states. Iranian President Hassan Rouhani, who had been at the two-day Istanbul conference along with over 30 other heads of state and government from Islamic countries, did not attend the closing meeting in protest at the criticisms.
“The (Organization of Islamic Cooperation) Conference deplored Iran’s interference in the internal affairs of the States of the region and other Member States including Bahrain, Yemen, Syria, and Somalia, and its continued support for terrorism,” said the summit’s final statement.

Syria – ***10/27/17 http://www.israelhayom.com/2017/10/27/no-role-for-assad-in-syrias-future-us-top-diplomat-says/ “The United States wants a whole and unified Syria with no role for Bashar Assad in the government,” says Secretary of State Rex Tillerson • “The reign of the Assad family is coming to an end, and the only issue is how that should be brought about.”

Iraq – **9/9/14 http://www.cnn.com/2014/09/08/world/meast/iraq-government/index.html Iraqi lawmakers approved a new government Monday and tapped former Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki as one of the country’s three vice presidents.
Several key Cabinet posts remain vacant.
Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi vowed to have nominations for the defense and interior minister posts ready to present to Parliament within a week.
Monday’s Parliament vote, just a day before a constitutional deadline, comes as Iraq faces political turmoil and battles a surge of Islamist militants from ISIS.
Along with al-Maliki, former Prime Minister Ayad Allawi and former speaker of Parliament Osama al-Nujaifi will also serve as vice presidents. Allawi and Al-Maliki are longtime political foes.
The vice presidential post is largely ceremonial, but al-Maliki’s appointment leaves him in a visible position of power.
Critics have accused al-Maliki of consolidating power and persecuting political rivals, blaming him for fueling Iraq’s problems with sectarian policies that alienated Sunni Muslims.
Iraqi politicians have been under intense pressure from the United States to form an inclusive government representing Sunni, Shia and Kurds. U.S. President Barack Obama has said that would be a key condition for more U.S. support, and an important step in fighting militants from ISIS, the Sunni extremist group that calls itself the Islamic State.
On Monday, U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry said the government’s formation is “unquestionably a major milestone,” adding that it “has the potential to unite all of Iraq’s diverse communities.”
“Now is the time for Iraq’s leaders to govern their nation with the same vision and sense of purpose that helped bring this new government together in the first place,” Kerry said. “In that effort they should know that the United States will stand shoulder-to-shoulder with Iraqis as they implement their national plan.”
A spokesman for U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon said the new government is a “positive step towards political stability and peace” in Iraq.
It’s too soon to say whether Monday’s reshuffling will quell tensions and win over members Iraq’s Sunni minority, who bitterly complained of being marginalizedand cut out of the political process by al-Maliki’s Shiite-dominated government.
A more inclusive government, Obama said last month, would give confidence to Sunnis that ISIS “is not the only game in town.”
Outlining his government program Monday, al-Abadi vowed to rebuild security forces, stamp out corruption and make sure weapons were only in the hands of the state — not militia groups.
Iraq is “under a vicious attack,” he said, and security forces will fight until “victory.”
Whether the new government will be able to settle political differences and bring the country together remains to be seen. (You did hear what they said: http://www.debka.com/article/24242/Senior-NATO-Members-Rise-up-against-US-Iranian-Detente “Senior NATO Members Rise up against US-Iranian Detente”)
8/17/14: IRAQ – Dr. Haider Al-Abadi is an Iraqi politician and spokesman for the Islamic Dawa Party. He was nominated for the role of prime minister of Iraq on 11 August by President Fuad Masum.
Indeed, the new prime minister is going to need all the help he can get, from God and from the devil before too long. In God’s department Al-Abadi has the support of Grand Ayatollah Ali al-Sistani, Iraq’s most influential Shiite cleric, who earlier today voiced his support for the political transition. Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki, Shi’ite Muslim, was forced to step down. 8/17/14 (Shiite Arab vice president Adil Abdul-Mahdi. Shiite militia Jaish Al-Mahdi, the Saudi daily Al Watan reported. Foreign Minister Hoshiyar Zebari.)
06/23/14 Kerry canvassed Shiite, Sunni and Kurdish leaders for a consensual candidate to lead a government representing all of Iraq’s sects and communities. He had in mind a Shiite prime minister able to gain the endorsement of Grand Ayatollah Ali Sistani. Who is Sistani? Sistani has a substantial following within Shia communities all over the world and is the current Nayb-i Imam (Preeminent Marja) of the Twelver sect of Shia Muslims. In Iran, as a result of the post-invasion opening of the Iraqi cities of Najaf and Karbala to Iranians, many Iranians are said to return from pilgrimage in Iraq as supporters of Sistani. Thomas L. Friedman, former Bureau Chief of The New York Times in Beirut and Jerusalem (1982–88), winner of three Pulitzer Prizes, and elected Member of Pulitzer Prize Board, nominated Ayatollah Sistani for theNobel Peace Prize in 2005 and wrote the article titled “Nobel for Sistani” which was published in the New York Times on 20 March, 2005. Incredible!!!!!!!

Libya – 4/16/16 http://www.reuters.com/article/us-libya-security-france-germany-idUSKCN0XD0JB The West is counting on the unity government to tackle Islamic State militants in Libya and prevent new flows of migrants heading north across the Mediterranean, though the new government’s leaders are still trying to establish themselves in Tripoli. “Nothing will be done unless the government wants it and examines it in a very concrete manner,” said French Foreign Minister Jean-Marc Ayrault.
Libya slipped into political turmoil after a NATO backed air campaign helped rebels topple autocrat Muammar Gaddafi five years ago. Paris played a leading part in the campaign, but has regretted the lack of support given to the authorities afterwards.
Since 2014 the country has had two competing sets of parliaments and governments in Tripoli and the east, both backed by loose alliances of armed brigades.

Lebanon – 3/15/16 http://www.bbc.com/news/world-middle-east-10814698 Hezbollah – the Party of God – is a Shia Islamist political, military and social organisation that wields considerable power in Lebanon. After Israel withdrew in 2000, Hezbollah resisted pressure to disarm and continued to strengthen its military wing, the Islamic Resistance. In some ways, its capabilities now exceed those of the Lebanese army, its considerable firepower used against Israel in the 2006 war.
The group also gradually became a key power broker in Lebanon’s political system, and has effectively gained veto power in the cabinet.
Hezbollah has been accused of carrying out a string of bombings and plots against Jewish and Israeli targets and is designated a terrorist organisation by Western states, Israel, Gulf Arab countries and the Arab League.
Some Lebanese consider Hezbollah a threat to the country’s stability, but it is enduringly popular within the Shia community. To end the sectarian clashes that left 81 people dead and brought Lebanon to the brink of a new civil war, the government backed down and a power-sharing agreement gave Hezbollah and its allies the power to veto any cabinet decision. In 2009 elections it won 10 seats in parliament and remained in the unity government. Later that year, Hezbollah’s secretary general Sheikh Hassan Nasrallah issued a new political manifesto that sought to highlight the group’s “political vision”. It dropped the reference to an Islamic republic found in the 1985 manifesto, but maintained a tough line against Israel and the US and said Hezbollah needed to keep its weapons.

2 And the beast (17:3 a scarlet beast [which was] full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns)

which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as [the feet] of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: (Daniel 7:3″And four great beasts came up from the sea, each different from the other.
4″The first [was] like a lion, and had eagle’s wings. I watched till its wings were plucked off; and it was lifted up from the earth and made to stand on two feet like a man, and a man’s heart was given to it.
5″And suddenly another beast, a second, like a bear. It was raised up on one side, and [had] three ribs in its mouth between its teeth. And they said thus to it: ‘Arise, devour much flesh!’
6″After this I looked, and there was another, like a leopard, which had on its back four wings of a bird. The beast also had four heads, and dominion was given to it.
7″After this I saw in the night visions, and behold, a fourth beast, dreadful and terrible, exceedingly strong. It had huge iron teeth; it was devouring, breaking in pieces, and trampling the residue with its feet. It [was] different from all the beasts that [were] before it, and it had ten horns.
8″I was considering the horns, and there was another horn, a little one, coming up among them, before whom three of the first horns were plucked out by the roots. And there, in this horn, [were] eyes like the eyes of a man, and a mouth speaking pompous words.

17’Those great beasts, which are four, [are] four kings [which] arise out of the earth.
23″Thus he said: ‘The fourth beast shall be A fourth kingdom on earth, Which shall be different from all [other] kingdoms, And shall devour the whole earth, Trample it and break it in pieces.
24The ten horns [are] ten kings [Who] shall arise from this kingdom. And another shall rise after them; He shall be different from the first [ones], And shall subdue three kings. (ISIS)
25He shall speak [pompous] words against the Most High, Shall persecute the saints of the Most High, And shall intend to change times and law. Then [the saints] shall be given into his hand For a time and times and half a time. (3 1/2 years)
26’But the court shall be seated, And they shall take away his dominion, To consume and destroy [it] forever. (Dan 7:17 These great beasts, which are four, [are] four kings, [which] shall arise out of the earth.)
40 And the fourth kingdom shall be strong as iron: forasmuch as iron breaketh in pieces and subdueth all [things]: and as iron that breaketh all these, shall it break in pieces and bruise. 41 And whereas thou sawest the feet and toes, part of potters’ clay, and part of iron, the kingdom shall be divided; but there shall be in it of the strength of the iron, forasmuch as thou sawest the iron mixed with miry clay. 42 And [as] the toes of the feet [were] part of iron, and part of clay, [so] the kingdom shall be partly strong, and partly broken. 43 And whereas thou sawest iron mixed with miry clay, they shall mingle themselves with the seed of men: but they shall not cleave one to another, even as iron is not mixed with clay. 44 And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, [but] it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever. 45 Forasmuch as thou sawest that the stone was cut out of the mountain without hands, and that it brake in pieces the iron, the brass, the clay, the silver, and the gold; the great God hath made known to the king what shall come to pass hereafter: and the dream [is] certain, and the interpretation thereof sure. (note there are 5 counting the toes)

and the dragon (Rev 20:2 And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand year)

gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority. (Rev 17:17 “For God has put it into their hearts to fulfill His purpose, to be of one mind, and to give their kingdom to the beast, until the words of God are fulfilled. Isa 14:24 The LORD of hosts hath sworn, saying, Surely as I have thought, so shall it come to pass; and as I have purposed, [so] shall it stand: 25 That I will break the Assyrian in my land, and upon my mountains tread him under foot: then shall his yoke depart from off them, and his burden depart from off their shoulders. 26 This [is] the purpose that is purposed upon the whole earth: and this [is] the hand that is stretched out upon all the nations. 27 For the LORD of hosts hath purposed, and who shall disannul [it]? and his hand [is] stretched out, and who shall turn it back?)

3And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast.
4And they worshipped the dragon (Rev 12:9And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceives the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.) (Rev 20:2 And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years)

which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, (“Allah”- “Praise “Allah” – worship – acknowledges his power) (Rev 17:17 “For God has put it into their hearts to fulfill His purpose, to be of one mind, and to give their kingdom to the beast, until the words of God are fulfilled. and blasphemies; (“Allah”- “Praise “Allah” – worship – acknowledges his power) (17:3And I saw a woman sitting on a scarlet beast [which was] full of names of blasphemy having seven heads and ten horns)

and power was given unto him to continue forty [and] two months. (3 ½ years)
6And he opened his mouth (now speaking of the antichrist man, a leader)

in blasphemy (“Allah”- “Praise “Allah”)

against God, to blaspheme His name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven.
7And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations. (Rev 17:17 “For God has put it into their hearts to fulfill His purpose, to be of one mind, and to give their kingdom to the beast, until the words of God are fulfilled. 8And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, (“Allah”- “Praise “Allah” – worship – acknowledges his power, bowing down) (Rev 17:17 “For God has put it into their hearts to fulfill His purpose, to be of one mind, and to give their kingdom to the beast, until the words of God are fulfilled. (see Isa 14:24-27))

9If any man have an ear, let him hear.
10He that leadeth into captivity shall go into captivity: he that killeth with the sword must be killed with the sword. Here is the patience and the faith of the saints.
11And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon. (Rev 16:13 And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet.)

12And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed. (“Allah”- “Praise “Allah” – worship – acknowledges his power, bowing down)

13And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men,
14And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth (Rev 17:17 “For God has put it into their hearts to fulfill His purpose, to be of one mind, and to give their kingdom to the beast, until the words of God are fulfilled. (see Isa 14:24-27))

by [the means of] those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live.
15And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed. (bow down, convert to, “Allah”- “Praise “Allah” – worship – acknowledges his power)

16And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: (Rev 14:9 Then another angel, a third one, followed them, saying with a loud voice, “If anyone worships the beast and his image, and receives a mark on his forehead or on his hand, 10 he also will drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is mixed in full strength in the cup of His anger; and he will be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb. 11 “And the smoke of their torment goes up forever and ever; they have no rest day and night, those who worship the beast and his image, and whoever receives the mark of his name.”)

17And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.
18Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number [is] Six hundred threescore [and] six. (In the Codex Sinaiticus there are three Greek symbols that have been interpreted to be 666.)

Revelation 17:1 Then one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls came and talked with me, saying to me, “Come, I will show you the judgment (Chap 18)

of the great harlot (17:5 and on her forehead a name [was] written MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND OF THE ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH) (18and the woman whom you saw is that great city which reigns over the kings of the earth. “Babylon”)

who sits on many waters (15 Then he said to me, “The waters which you saw, where the harlot sits, are peoples, multitudes, nations, and tongues)

2 “with whom the kings of the earth (The Scarlet Beast)

committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth were made drunk with the wine of her fornication.”
3 So he carried me away in the Spirit into the wilderness. And I saw a woman (17:5 MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND OF THE ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH) (18 the woman whom you saw is that great city which reigns over the kings of the earth. “Babylon)

sitting on a scarlet beast (15 Then he said to me, “The waters which you saw, where the harlot sits, are peoples, multitudes, nations, and tongues)

[which was] full of names of blasphemy (“Allah”- “Praise “Allah” – worship (acknowledges his power)),

having seven heads and ten horns. (12 “The ten horns which you saw are ten kings who have received no kingdom as yet, but they receive authority for one hour as kings with the beast.”)

4 The woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet, and adorned with gold and precious stones and pearls, having in her hand a golden cup full of abominations and the filthiness of her fornication.
5 And on her forehead a name [was] written: MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND OF THE ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.
6 I saw the woman, (17:5 MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND OF THE ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH) (18the woman whom you saw is that great city which reigns over the kings of the earth. “Babylon)

drunk with the blood of the saints and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus. And when I saw her, I marveled with great amazement.
7 But the angel said to me, “Why did you marvel? I will tell you the mystery of the woman (17:5 MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND OF THE ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH) (18 the woman whom you saw is that great city which reigns over the kings of the earth. “Babylon) (17:3And I saw a woman sitting on a scarlet beast [which was] full of names of blasphemy (“Allah”- “Praise “Allah” – worship (acknowledges his power)), having seven heads and ten horns)

and of the beast (5 the scarlet beast, (15 peoples, multitudes, nations, and tongues))

that carries her, which has the seven heads and the ten horns. (12 “The ten horns which you saw are ten kings who have received no kingdom as yet, but they receive authority for one hour as kings with the beast.”)

8 “The beast that you saw (5 the scarlet beast, (15 peoples, multitudes, nations, and tongues))

was, and is not, and will ascend (the Ottoman Empire)(Dan 7:23The fourth beast shall be the fourth kingdom upon earth, which shall be diverse from all kingdoms, and shall devour the whole earth, and shall tread it down, and break it in pieces. 24 And the ten horns out of this kingdom (These 10 horns are kings/countries that once were the Ottoman Empire. 11 “The beast that was, and is not, is himself also the eighth, and is of the seven, and is going to perdition. (the Ottoman Empire)

these will hate the harlot, make her desolate and naked, eat her flesh and burn her with fire. (Chap 18)

17 “For God has put it into their hearts to fulfill His purpose (Rev 17:17 “For God has put it into their hearts to fulfill His purpose, to be of one mind, and to give their kingdom to the beast, until the words of God are fulfilled. 27 For the LORD of hosts hath purposed, and who shall disannul [it]? and his hand [is] stretched out, and who shall turn it back?),

1/5/16 http://defensetech.org/2016/01/04/u-s-navy-plans-to-fly-first-drone-swarm-this-summer/ The U.S. Navy is a leader in the area of swarm warfare, (LOCUST) the threat has been analyzed in a number of papers from the Naval Postgraduate School analyze the threat. Some of these are classified, but a 2012 paper by Loc Pham, “UAV Swarm Attack” is open and makes uncomfortable reading.
Chung is staging a contest for swarms of small drones carry out simulated battles as a way of evaluating tactics and technology. His basic scenario is a 50-versus-50 encounter in which the Blue defenders attempt to stop Red attackers from getting through. Nobody knows much about drone-versus-drone combat yet, especially on this scale. How much autonomy do the drones need? How can the swarm commander stay in control in a fast-moving action? How do quality and quantity balance out in battling swarms?
With manned aircraft, the pilot’s life counts for a lot; but swarming drones are expendable and high “casualties” do not matter. This is a very different world to the dogfights we have seen before.
The battles will be fought with small drones even cheaper than those used in LOCUST, but the tactics they discover may shape the future of warfare.
When a swarm of drones heads for an American carrier some time in the future, they might be intercepted by a defensive swarm. What happens next — whether the aircraft on the carrier’s deck are destroyed, or whether the attackers are beaten off — will depend on which side has the best grasp of an entirely new form of warfare.

***11/06/17 https://www.sarahpalinnews.com/2017/11/06/middle-eastern-tempers-flare-saudi-arabia-says-regional-power-declared-war-country/?ref=Ads The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) says Iran has officially declared war on their country.
The announcement comes after the KSA intercepted a ballistic missile over their country’s airspace.
**11/06/17 https://www.wsj.com/articles/iran-saudi-cold-war-intensifies-as-militant-threat-fades-1509917926 DUBAI—A cold war between Saudi Arabia and Iran, fought with proxies seeded across the Middle East, is sharply escalating as the two powers jockey to shape a regional order devoid of Islamic State.
**11/05/17 https://www.debka.com/mivzak/sweeping-saudi-purge-detentions-princes-including-tycoon-waleed-bin-talal/ Dozens of princes and former prime ministers were detained overnight Saturday in Saudi Arabia, including global financial tycoon Prince Waleed bin Talal, a major investor in Citigroup, 21st Century Fox, Apple and Twitter, among others. The purge was described as part of the kingdom’s first ever anti-corruption drive, in line with Crown Prince Mohamad bin-Salman’s reform program. Also detained was Finance Minister Ibrahim Al Assaf. King Salman said the detainees were “weak of character, without conscience or morals.” A parallel purge took place in the top ranks of the military and the National Guard. DEBKAfile reports that the Crown Prince targeted his opponents and strengthened his own position. Some sources claim the king will abdicate soon and Prince Muhammad ascend the throne.

It was intercepted by an air defense battery. DEBKAfile reports: the missile was a Burkan 2H which has a range of 1,000km. It was supplied to the Yemen rebels by Iran’s Revolutionary Guards, and it was launched from the northern Yemen town of Saadah.
**11/04/17 https://www.timesofisrael.com/netanyahu-hariris-resignation-a-wake-up-call-on-iran-threat-to-the-region/ Netanyahu: Hariri’s resignation a ‘wake-up call’ on Iran threat to the region.
PM calls on international community to address ‘Iranian aggression’ after Saad Hariri steps down, citing Islamic Republic’s ‘grip’ on Lebanon.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Saturday warned that Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri’s resignation should be a “wake-up call” to the international community to the threat posed by Iran’s regional ambitions, which he said endanger not only Israel but the entire Middle East.
“Lebanon=Hezbollah. Hezbollah=Iran. Lebanon=Iran,” he tweeted. “Iran is a danger to the world. Saad Hariri proved this today. Period.”
“Iran is devouring one nation after the other,” Netanyahu said Friday at Chatham House, the Royal Institute of International Affairs think-tank in London.
“It is doing so either by direct conquest or by using proxy. They took over Lebanon, Yemen… they try to do the same thing with Iraq, in Syria.
Netanyahu said the Middle East was witnessing “the emergence of a battle between the Islamists and the modernists,” provoking a “new alliance between Israel and Islamic states.”
**11/04/17 https://www.debka.com/lebanese-pm-hariri-steps-strengthening-iranianhizballah-grip-beirut-israeli-border/ Saad Hariri resigned as Prime Minister of Lebanon Saturday, Nov. 4. Speaking from Riyadh, he accused Iran and Hizballah of plotting his assassination, and said he would not be returning to Beirut for the time being.
Hariri boarded a plane to Saudi Arabia straight after meeting in Beirut Friday with Ali Akbar Velyati, Iranian supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei’s senior adviser on foreign affairs.
In the convoluted, lethal politics of Lebanon, Saad Hariri, 47, has changed his spots time after time before he took office last November as the head of a broad coalition government, including his own Sunni-led Future Movement and the Shiite Hizballah.
He has always lived in the shadow of the 2005 assassination of his father, prime minister Rafiq Hariri, who died in a huge explosion in Beirut that was contrived by Syrian intelligence and Hizballah agents, killed 21 other people and kept the country in turmoil for years.
*11/02/17 http://www.israelnationalnews.com/News/News.aspx/237620 Israel vows to protect embattled Syrian village from rebels.
IDF pledges to intervene in Syrian civil war to ‘prevent capture, occupation’ of Druze town by rebel forces after suicide bomber kills 9.
Israel has offered to intervene on behalf of a Syrian village near the Israeli border, one of the few times the Jewish state has expressed a willingness to wade into Syrian civil war raging for the past six years on Israel’s northern border.
The Israeli army said Friday that fighting has escalated in and around the town of Hader on the Syrian side of the Golan Heights.
Hader, a Druze town, has backed President Assad’s regime, making it a target for rebel forces, including the radical Al Nusra Islamist movement, which is seeking to gain a foothold in the Syrian Golan.
A suicide car bomber killed at least 9 people in Hader Friday, AFP reported, with another 23 injured. The Syrian SANA media outlet blamed the Al Nusra movement for the bombing.
Senior IDF officials pledged Thursday afternoon to intervene on Hader’s behalf and to protect its inhabitants from rebel forces.
Israel, said Brigadier General Ronen Manelis, is prepared to act “to prevent Hader from being harmed or occupied as part of our commitment to the Druze population.”
Manelis also denied “claims of Israeli involvement or help to global Jihadi elements in the fighting.”
The Druze, a small stateless ethno-religious community spread across Syria, Lebanon, and northern Israel, have often suffered persecution at the hands of despots and radical Islamists in the region. The 145,000 Druze citizens of Israel are by and large loyal to the state, with most Druze men enlisting in the IDF and even serving in high IDF positions. Not a few have given their lives for the state..
Druze tradition calls for being loyal to whoever rules the area in which they reside and Druze in the past even spawned terrorists such as Lebanese Druze Samir Kuntar who carried out the barbaric terror attack against the Haran family in Nahariya. However, the family ties between Israeli and Syrian Druze are many and trump those factors.
**11/02/17 https://www.timesofisrael.com/israel-denies-request-to-recover-hamas-terrorists-bodies-from-tunnel/ Israel denies request to recover Hamas terrorists’ bodies from tunnel.
Defense Ministry demands progress on Israelis held in Gaza before five bodies believed to be under rubble can be extracted.
Israel on Thursday said that until there is progress toward releasing Israeli citizens and remains of IDF soldiers held in Gaza by Hamas, it will not allow the terror group to retrieve the bodies of terrorists thought to have been buried under rubble when the military destroyed a cross-border attack tunnel on Monday.
Hamas said it believes five bodies are still inside the tunnel near the Israeli border, which was being built by the Palestinian Islamic Jihad terror group extending from the Gazan city of Khan Younis into Israeli territory, near Kibbutz Kissufim. The IDF blew up the tunnel in Israeli territory.
Hamas reportedly asked the International Committee of the Red Cross to coordinate with Israel to allow its men to enter the Gaza-Israel buffer security zone and search for the missing bodies within the tunnel.
Major General Yoav Mordechai, head of the Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories, the Israeli Defense Ministry branch that liaises with the Palestinians on civil and security affairs, said that he refused a request by the ICRC to search for the missing bodies in the tunnel.
According to a statement by COGAT, Mordechai told the head of the ICRC delegation in Gaza, Jacques de Maio, that “Israel will not allow search operations in the area of the security barrier in the Gaza Strip without progress on the issue of Israelis kidnapped and MIAs.”
Hamas still holds bodies of Israeli soldiers killed during the 2014 war in the Strip, and has refused requests from Israel and the ICRC to return them to their families. It is also believed to be imprisoning three mentally unstable Israeli citizens — Avraham Mengistu, Hisham al-Sayed and Juma Abu Anima — all of whom are believed to have entered the Strip of their own volition.
The families of the soldiers, along with several Israeli politicians, said that Israel should not accede to Hamas’s request without a reciprocal deal to return their loved ones’ bodies.
“We hope that the Israeli government will not dare to comply with Hamas’s request as long as they do not return Oron,” said the family of soldier Shaul Oron. “Oron was kidnapped through a tunnel that Hamas dug, and for more than three years has been held by them in Gaza, and yet they do not allow the Red Cross to check on his condition.”
The family of soldier Hadar Goldin said it would be immoral of the government to allow the terror group to retrieve the bodies of its dead while it continues to hold the remains of Israeli soldiers.
“Any Israeli humanitarian gesture toward Hamas must be contingent on bringing our boys home. If Israel responds [positively] to Hamas, it would be a moral injustice and a sign of political weakness,” the family said. “If Hamas wants the bodies of the terrorists buried under the rubble of the tunnel, it must also return our missing soldiers. The humanitarian balance applies to both sides. We call on the prime minister to take every opportunity to return the Israeli citizens held by Hamas and the bodies of Oron Shaul and Hadar Goldin. This is an opportune moment which must not be wasted.”
Seven Palestinian terrorists — including two senior Palestinian Islamic Jihad commanders and two members of Hamas’s elite naval unit — were killed as result of the tunnel’s explosion on Monday, and 12 others were injured, Gaza’s Health Ministry said.
The IDF suspects the missing diggers were working in the stretch of the tunnel that is inside Israeli territory.
*11/02/17 https://www.timesofisrael.com/hamas-pragmatism-in-gaza-handover-hints-at-a-new-future-for-the-strip/ Hamas pragmatism in Gaza handover hints at a new future for the Strip.
The terror group surprises observers by giving up control over the inflow of people and goods into the coastal enclave, sticking to the unity deal agreed with the PA.
History was made in the Gaza Strip on Wednesday. For the first time in a decade, control of all the border crossings was transferred by Hamas to the Palestinian Authority. This step could have dramatic implications for the future, primarily for those living in the coastal enclave, but also for Israel.
This is the first concrete step of the reconciliation deal between Fatah, which runs the PA, and the Hamas terror organization with controls the Gaza Strip. Perhaps the tremendous skepticism over the chances of rapprochement between the two groups needs to be reexamined.
Control of the crossings was transferred to the Palestinian Authority (which was already in the crossings, but had no contact with the Hamas checkpoint). From now the PA is the sole authority that will collect taxes on imports.
Another step which surprised many was that Hamas removed its officers from those crossings entirely. According to the first agreement signed in Cairo, the officers were to stay in their positions until a solution had been reached about the staff working for Hamas (almost 40,000 people including security forces).
However, in discussions between Egyptian Hamas and PA representatives, Hamas agreed to remove its officers from the checkpoints immediately.
Those officers who were removed are fuming at losing their jobs and don’t know how they will earn a living.
It may be that this step of improving of the crossings and the promsed reopening of the Rafah crossing to Egypt in a couple of weeks, will lead to a real economic improvement in the Strip.
Yet Hamas and Islamic Jihad apparently continue to dig attack tunnels and build rockets. But at least it will ease the economic humanitarian crisis which could have led to another war with Israel.
**11/01/17 https://www.debka.com/israeli-air-strike-syrian-homs-region-reported-putin-holds-talks-tehran/ Various reports coming from Lebanese sources Wednesday night, Nov. 1, at around 21.00 hours alternately described unusually heavy Israeli Air Force flights over Syria near the Lebanese border or an Israeli air attack on Al Qusay in the Qalamoun Mountains which straddle that border.
Then, at around 22:30, Lebanese and Syrian sources began claiming that Israeli planes flew over Baalbek in eastern Lebanon and struck Syrian military targets near Homs. Hizballah’s television station Mayadin added that the Israel air attack targeted the Hisya industrial complex in the countryside of Homs and the Syrian army fired one or more anti-air missiles in an attempt to down the Israeli planes. They also described huge explosions heard far away, indicating that the location under attack was a plant, depot or convoy packed with ammunition or weaponry of some kind.
No official sources in Israel, Syria or Lebanon have confirmed any of these reports.
DEBKAfile’s military sources: The reported Israeli air assault on a presumed military target in Syria, if confirmed, while President Vladimir Putin was in Tehran talking with supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, has special significance. Syria’s air defense command operates under the Russian command, and so the Russian officers on the spot would have given the green light for Syrian missile fire and briefed Putin on the course of events.
This would have been the second time in the past fortnight for a Russian-Syrian anti-air missile to be launched against Israeli warplanes. On Oct. 16, a Syrian SA-5 battery based east of Damascus released missiles in an attempt to intercept Israeli flights over Lebanon. Israel retaliated with an air strike that smashed the battery.
**10/31/17 https://www.timesofisrael.com/qatar-idf-bombing-of-gaza-attack-tunnel-violates-palestinian-rights/ The Qatari Foreign Ministry on Wednesday said the IDF’s destruction of a tunnel leading from the Gaza Strip into Israeli territory earlier this week was a crime against the Palestinian people that hampered their legitimate rights.
Five Palestinian Islamic Jihad terrorists — including two senior commanders — and two terrorists from Hamas’s armed wing were killed as a result of the tunnel’s destruction.
**10/31/17 http://www.foxnews.com/world/2017/10/31/200-feared-dead-after-tunnel-collapses-at-north-korean-nuclear-test-site-japanese-tv-claims.html About 200 people are feared dead in North Korea after underground tunnels at a nuclear test site that was feared to be unstable reportedly collapsed, crushing 100 people in the initial cave-in and 100 others when the tunnels again gave way on top of rescuers.
The collapse at the Punggye-ri test site on Oct. 10 occurred while people were doing construction on the underground tunnel, Japan’s Asahi TV reported, citing a source in North Korea. The television station also said North Korea’s sixth nuclear test on Sept. 3 most likely caused the tunnel to crumble and created serious damage in the region.

(1)Babylon (Scofield, C. I. “Scofield Reference Notes on Isaiah 13″. “Scofield Reference Notes (1917 Edition)”. <http://www.studylight.org/com/srn/view.cgi?book=isa&chapter=013>. 1917.) The city, Babylon is not in view here, as the immediate context shows. It is important to note the significance of the name when used symbolically. “Babylon” is the Greek form: invariably in the O.T. Hebrew the word is simply Babel, the meaning of which is confusion, and in this sense the word is used symbolically. (1) In the prophets, when the actual city is not meant, the reference is to the “confusion” into which the whole social order of the world has fallen under Gentile world-domination. (See “Times of the Gentiles,” Luke 21:24Revelation 16:14Isaiah 13:4 gives the divine view of the welter of warring Gentile powers. The divine order is given in Isa. 11. Israel in her own land, the centre of the divine government of the world and channel of the divine blessing; and the Gentiles blessed in association with Israel. Anything else is, politically, mere “babel.” (2) In Revelation 14:8-1116:19 the Gentile world-system is in view in connection with Armageddon; Revelation 16:1419:21 while in Rev 17, the reference is to apostate Christianity, destroyed by the nations Revelation 17:16 headed up under the Beast ; Daniel 7:8Revelation 19:20 and false prophet. In Isaiah the political Babylon is in view, literally as to the then existing city, and symbolically as to the times of the Gentiles. In the Revelation both the symbolical- political and symbolical-religious Babylon are in view, for there both are alike under the tyranny of the Beast. Religious Babylon is destroyed by political Babylon Revelation 17:16 political Babylon by the appearing of the Lord Revelation 19:19-21. That Babylon the city is not to be rebuilt is clear from ; Isaiah 13:19-22Jeremiah 51:24-26,62-64. By political Babylon is meant the Gentile world-system.
(See “World,” ; John 7:7Revelation 13:8) It may be added that, in Scripture symbolism, Egypt stands for the world as such; Babylon for the world of corrupt power and corrupted religion; Nineveh for the pride, the haughty glory of the world. (Scofield, C. I. “Scofield Reference Notes on Isaiah 13.″)

  1. First, Praise to the Most High.

Thank you for sharing your truth and for and scripture/interpretation.

I think you are on point, However….

You say “someone once said amerika is the new babylon,” and I believe it is. Please do more research on this before you pass it off because it is uncomfortable…dude we live in babylon. Type in babylon usa in youtube and google, and while you will find various bias and perspectives…

It is so much closer to the truth that America is babylon….I see you say it could be “Bahrain, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Abu Dhabi…” Bro…really? I’m not knocking you for posting potential alternatives, in fact I applaud you for considering what babylon could be…

But Just based on the statement “amerika is not mentioned in the bible…” And then saying “well it must not come into end times play….” That is Faulty Logic…where do you see “Qatar” and the other countries written in the bible, and they “Are” in the end times because you applied the beast/horns/etc to those countries.

Do some more research. The United States is babylon….I’ll be praying for you.

    • Thank you so much for reading ‘revelationlastday.com’ and for your comment.

Read your comment with interest and would like to thank you for your kind comments.

Your interest in who Babylon is today is good. Joel Rosenberg believes it is the same city ‘Babylon’ where Daniel lived, in the Old Testament. C. I. Scofield believed the reference is to a ‘Spiritual Babylon’ and a city that is leading the world in riches as well as murder of the prophets. Hal Lindsey believes the EU is the 1st beast of Revelation 13 and the city of Rome will eventually be the capitol and Babylon.

The reference to ‘Babylon’ in Daniel and in Revelation is ‘the lion.’ Revelation 13 focuses on the coalition of the same countries as in Daniel. ‘The lion’ is part of the coalition against the world and desires to control the world then is turned on by ‘the beast’ and destroyed in Revelation chapters 17 and 18. As you have read I do not know ‘who’ Babylon is either, but I do believe any city I have listed as a choice could be. America didn’t exist when ‘the lion’ was prophesied so I have eliminated it as a candidate. If it is! we will be destroyed in one day! God help us.

The Ottoman Empire once controlled all and more countries than Media-Persia did. All of which are the locations of all the cities/countries listed as possible Babylon.

      Thank you again

    • Mr Dawkins: You very well may be right! If America ‘is’ the babylon, we have a short time before our Lord’s Promise to come for us! The Rapture!
