Revelation 4 – 5

10/3/14  http://uk.investing.com/news/world-news/insight—in-rare-alliance,-shi’ites-join-sunnis-to-defend-iraqi-towns-16686  When Islamic State fighters tried to storm the Tigris River town of Dhuluiya north of Baghdad this week, they were repelled by a rare coalition of Sunni tribal fighters inside the town and Shi’ites in its sister city Balad on the opposite bank. Dhuluiya, which comes from the word “ribs”, is a small town surrounded on three sides by a kink in the Tigris. A north-south highway runs through it, making it potentially one of the final stops for fighters attempting to assault Baghdad from the north.

Chapters 4 through 7 are happening in heaven. Chapter 12 is a parenthetical, a spiritual glance of Israel, The Christ, the Great Red Dragon Satan being cast to earth for his last 7 years before the millennium.  The sealing of the saints foreheads, the saints are given garments, and worship God. The description of heaven is here. John is taken into heaven and he gets to see the Lord, sitting on His throne, Chapter 5 the Lamb, who is Emmanuel, appears as a Lamb and has prevailed in Chapter 6 to open the 7 seals. Each seal represents a period of time that happens at the same time as the Church ages, and the Rapture.

Rev 4:1After this I looked, and, behold, a door [was] opened in heaven: and the first voice which I heard [was] as it were of a trumpet talking with me; which said, Come up hither, and I will shew thee things which must be hereafter.

Rapture. This verse is usually considered the point of the Rapture. ‘Come up hither’ and no mention of ‘the’ church anymore. (See 6:9)
note: A reference to the rapture? http://flashtrafficblog.wordpress.com/2014/10/05/hollywood-tackles-the-end-times-with-left-behind-film-but-is-the-rapture-a-biblical-concept-or-a-fictional-plot-device/ Excellent article on the rapture.

3And two olive trees by it, one upon the right [side] of the bowl, and the other upon the left [side] thereof. 4So I answered and spake to the angel that talked with me, saying, What [are] these, my lord? 5Then the angel that talked with me answered and said unto me, Knowest thou not what these be? And I said, No, my lord. 6Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This [is] the word of the LORD unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts.  7Who [art] thou, O great mountain? before Zerubbabel [thou shalt become] a plain: and he shall bring forth the headstone [thereof with] shoutings, [crying], Grace, grace unto it.

Rev 4:9 Whenever the living creatures give glory and honor and thanks to Him who sits on the throne, who lives forever and ever,

Rev 4:10 the twenty-four elders fall down before Him who sits on the throne and worship Him who lives forever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying: Rev 4:4,10; 5:8,14; 11:16; 19:4; Matt 19:28; Luke 22:30;

24 elders (There is a lot of assuming that these elders have received theircrowns for rewards, and they willingly cast them back to God. I believe this has nothing to do with rewards, but crowns, and I just don’t think they are casting rewarded crowns back as worship, but crowns that they take off and place at the feet of the victorious King. Due respect.  I just don’t see enough evidence from scripture to assume these crowns represent rewards. It is just a silly notion some have made up. Telling someone here on earth they will receive crowns for ‘rewards,’ and say what they think is worthy of a reward in their view, is ‘puffed up’ and self-righteous. Certainly not what rewards are. No one knows who the 24 elders are and there is nothing in scripture that identifies them.If the 24 elders are the disciples and the 12 tribes of Jacob then, I also am curious to know if John is one of the 24 elders sitting there and at the same time telling what he saw. Granted he is very modest.

Matt 19:28; And Jesus said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That ye which have followed me, in the regeneration when the Son of man shall sit in the throne of his glory, ye also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.” Ref. to the 12 Apostles; (also Lk 22:30) This is just not convincing enough evidence to conclude these 24 elders are any of the apostles.

Rev 4:11“You are worthy, O Lord,
 To receive glory and honor and power;
 For You created all things,
 And by Your will they exist and were created.”

Zech 6:12And speak unto him, saying, Thus speaketh the LORD of hosts, saying, Behold the man whose name [is] The BRANCH; and he shall grow up out of his place, and he shall build the temple of the LORD: 13Even he shall build the temple of the LORD; and he shall bear the glory, and shall sit and rule upon his throne; and he shall be a priest upon his throne: and the counsel of peace shall be between them both. 14And the crowns shall be to Helem, and to Tobijah, and to Jedaiah, and to Hen the son of Zephaniah, for a memorial in the temple of the LORD. 15And they [that are] far off shall come and build in the temple of the LORD, and ye shall know that the LORD of hosts hath sent me unto you. And [this] shall come to pass, if ye will diligently obey the voice of the LORD your God.
Rom 15:12; And again, Esaias saith, There shall be a root of Jesse, and he that shall rise to reign over the Gentiles; in him shall the Gentiles trust.

Rev 5:6 And I looked, and behold, in the midst of the throne and of the four living creatures, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as though it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent out into all the earth. Rev 1:4,12,16,20; 2:1; 3:1; 4:5; 5:6; 15:1,7; Zech 4:2,10,11,14; (Rev 4:6-8; 5:6,8; Isa 6:1-3; Eze 1:5-28; 10:9) (See 1:4,5)

Then said he, These [are] the two anointed ones, that stand by the Lord of the whole earth.
(Isa 6:1In the year that king Uzziah died I saw also the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and his train filled the temple. 2Above it stood the seraphims: each one had six wings; with twain he covered his face, and with twain he covered his feet, and with twain he did fly. 3And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, [is] the LORD of hosts: the whole earth [is] full of his glory.

1 Pet 2:5; you yourselves like living stones are being built up as a spiritual house, to be a holy priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. 9But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light. 10Once you were not apeople, but now you are God’s people; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy
